Bottle. Sweet milk sugar, dry deep doughy roast, and sharp dark chocolate. Touch of chocolately licorice. Taste is moderate to heavy bitter roast, touch of grapefruit, backed by sweet cream and chocolate covered pretzels. Liked it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle from app vintner, reviewing from notes - This beer foamed up so badly that after pouring 2 inches of beer in my pint glass it foamed over. annoying. Anyway, once it finally settled, its dark hoppiness that’s done well, for once, which was awesome.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours nearly black with mahogany tones....huge dark tan head that refuses to give up... diminishes slowly leaving craggy, towers of foam.
Aroma is liquorice, chocolate powder.....roasty.
Flavour is bitter coffee over more liquorice.....
high carbonation, hop bitters.
Slightly thin, but very good, indeed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours hazy mahogany with 1-finger khaki head. Nose is a rich amalgamation of cacao, black patent malt, nuts, black licorice. Tastes dark malty, with hints of cacao, black licorice, resiny hops, and a rich finish with a big palate heft. To me, this one is more of a hoppy porter than a black IPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours black with medium beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and citrus. Flavors of coffee and chocolate. No smoke. Looks like a porter and drinks like an IPA. Medium body with big carbonation. Damn good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black, thin with a small brown head. Nose is roasted coffee, pie crust, light chocolate and even lighter pine. Nose would indicate a porter, not a black IPA but as the label would indicate the difference may be slight. Taste is sweet for the most part with bitter only showing itself on the end of the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy until the long finish where it becomes slightly crisp with a lighter body.
