A juxtaposition of styles: fresh and hoppy, yet dark and rich. Mindbendingly delicious. NZ & rest of the world brewed at Invercargill Brewery. UK & Europe brewed at Brewdog, Aberdeenshire.

11.2 Oz bottle. Huge head. Not a bad pour results in a giant head. Smells fine, nothing really of note. Brown sugar I suppose. Flavor isn’t that good. Perhaps this is a skunky bottle. Lots of carbonation, weird flavor. Don’t think I’ll get this again

Dark brown color with lively carbonation. Lots of roast and a bit of coffee in the aroma, but the taste was way more bitter and hop forward. More spritzy than expecting with a "porter" or bipa. Still fun beer that isn't easily defined.

Flaske i gave fra espr0r. Svart farge, moderat karbonert. Beige skumrand. Smaker kaffe, brent malt,gjær,tobakk og lakris. En god porter med fylde

330ml bottle, 6%, BB April 2016. Black, small foamy light brown head, light lacing. Aroma is hoppy with pine cleaner, lime oil, fruity coffee. Body is medium, rounded, low carbonation, slightly foamy. Nice mouthfeel. Taste is burnt and ashy tobacco, floral, salty, fruity hoppiness suggesting something like nectarine. My kind of beer. Lots of flavour for a 6 percenter, good mouthfeel. Quite a low average but good recent ratings. Maybe a good batch?

Bottle from hop hideout, sheffield. pitch black with nice creamy head that lasts. Aroma is tobacco smoke and coffee and liquorice and blackcurrent on the nose. Taste is slightly sweet but mostly bitter. Nice oily body and mild carbonation. Nice beer.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Clear, very dark red. Messy, sticky, lasting, thin, tan head. Dark chocolate. Dark, roast malts. Bit of a lactic sweetness. Trace of grapefruit hop. Taste is full on roast bitter. Some charred wood. Plenty of body. Not chewy, though. Long lasting, woody, full on bitter finish. Less hop punch than I might have expected, but really tasty. Smooth, and easy drinking, too.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell, London. It pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted and lightly sweet, with notes of chocolate, wood and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and lightly burnt, roasty, bitter. Notes of raising, chocolate, espresso, citrus peel, tangy berries, biscuit. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice porter

Keg at Spit/Fire. Creamy and dark - too dark in the bar to see true colour! Spiced- up hop and malts, a wee dunt of choccy coffee which gives a nice friendly Chinese burn after it’s got your confidence. From there on we were friends, and by the end I was nestled into its velvet nether regions whispering something about love at first taste. A contender.
