3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thanks to Wombata. Peat, Band-Aids plasticky scent, and smoke. Very light straw color. Light whiskey-ish initial; mid palate brings some fruit, peaches, and then burned car tires; finish is a big smoldering log. Medium heavy body. Equal parts disgusting and intriguing. Peat-heads.... go for it!

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Dark blond with a thin head. Overwhelming whiskey-peat aroma, smoky, with also light esters, peach, and hospital notes, like band-aids. Not a pleasant nose. Very peaty flavor, estery and roasty as well, much better than the nose. A very interesting example of what can be done with peated malts, but in the end, it tastes rather foul.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours clear golden, with almost no head at all. The aroma is definitely a love-hate-affair with an extreme smokey peat, tar, whisky and oakey barrels as well as notes of sail ships and sea dogs. Body is full with a creamy texture, with a soft carbonation. The flavour is a bit like sitting right beside a campfire drinking the smokey air. When the smoke fades a bit it’s sweet with caramel malts, grain, bread and some alcohol. Sweet finish with notes of alcohol and ash.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a lightish golden colour with a fairly quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is intense to say the least, very smoky, peaty, whisky, some cured meats? A bit of ash in there as well. Peat flavours dominate, but there is some residual sweetness. Nice bubbly palate and light body keeps the intense flavour from becoming bogged down. Really different, strange at first, liked it in the end!

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
WellI tried the Rex earlier in the year, and was given this bottle a Christmas gift. Nice golden colour with great white head. Burnt plastic aroma, petrified rubber flavour. Just too much for me.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Unlike it’s little brother "Rex attitude", xeRRex is just a masterpiece!
It is beers equivalent of smokey Islay Whiskeys like Laphroiag!
As it says on the label; "... But we like to do our own thing!" - Granted!
NOSE: Whiskey, and a subtle smokey-caramel
TASTE: Smokey, tobacco, demerara sugar, and of course whiskey
Conclusion: I have to give this beer the highest rating. I haven’t had other beers like this ever. WOW!
