4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
pretty phenomenal, was a bit worried about this going in as i don’t like whiskey but it turned out to be a fantastic smoked beer, predominantly smoked cheese. very tasty and surprisingly easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a deep golden orange with a finger of fading head. Huge smoked peat nose with earthy and apricot flavours. Bit of caramel too. Smells like a glass of talisker. Flavour is vastly different to the nose: massive apricot and caramel sweetness. Nose makes you anticipate a smoky flavour but its actually very sweet. Nice light smoky finish. Shared between three, probably wouldn’t have another glass; very rich, saturated sweet smoke. Points for uniqueness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours clear orange with a light lacing dissipating beige small head. Aroma is quite smoked with peat, burnt wood, caramel, iodine, burnt rubber, hay and leather. Taste is near heavy sweet and medium bitter. Body is near full, texture is oily/light syrupy and carbonation is soft. Finishes sweet and smoked. This is a rather different beast than Rex Attitude, the flavors is integrated more by the sweet malt base, but this is a slow sipper. XeRRex packs a lot more punch, but I prefer the in your face Rex Attitude.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted from the bottle, on 23/01/2013.
Pours of slightly muddy amber, with a good off-white foam.
Aroma is so intense, peat, tons of peat and a bit smoky/ashy.
Taste is intensely peaty/smoky/sweet, and a bit grassy/floral in the end.
Worth to try, hard to drink frequently though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thanks to Wombata. Peat, Band-Aids plasticky scent, and smoke. Very light straw color. Light whiskey-ish initial; mid palate brings some fruit, peaches, and then burned car tires; finish is a big smoldering log. Medium heavy body. Equal parts disgusting and intriguing. Peat-heads.... go for it!

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Dark blond with a thin head. Overwhelming whiskey-peat aroma, smoky, with also light esters, peach, and hospital notes, like band-aids. Not a pleasant nose. Very peaty flavor, estery and roasty as well, much better than the nose. A very interesting example of what can be done with peated malts, but in the end, it tastes rather foul.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours clear golden, with almost no head at all. The aroma is definitely a love-hate-affair with an extreme smokey peat, tar, whisky and oakey barrels as well as notes of sail ships and sea dogs. Body is full with a creamy texture, with a soft carbonation. The flavour is a bit like sitting right beside a campfire drinking the smokey air. When the smoke fades a bit it’s sweet with caramel malts, grain, bread and some alcohol. Sweet finish with notes of alcohol and ash.
