2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
I wouldn’t say yes again to a SJS. Poured a murky black with a little tiny head. Aroma was promising of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste was just okay of mild chocolate and coffee. Had a very thin watery body. No real bitterness and just falls flat like water on your tongue. It also goes down way to quick for a stout.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was really looking forward to this brew and it let me down. It’s inky black with a thin, creamy tan head. Smelling of chocolate and roast malts and carrying into the flavour but falling flat and dropping right off. There is a very light bitterness that buggers off quickly. The big downside for me was the watery thin palate and super low carbonation...probably the thinnest Stout I have had. However, the aftertaste was of very pleasant chocolate and saved this from being a total disaster. Quite literally this beer seems watered down.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by drsordr at Natifest. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malts, some chocolate, powdery, mild sweetness, some off notes, light coffee hints. Lighter, thin body. I am glad to have new provinces, countries, etc., but this was just a tick.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Clear, but dark brown. Minimal off-white head. Couple bits of lace. Some dark fruit, some dark chocolate. Smooth, light, crisp carbonation. More dry finish. Bigger body. Dark chocolate, some tobacco, herbal flavors, nice roast. Bigger bitter taste. Minimal sweet. Maybe a bit thin, but awesome big flavor to it. Very roasty and bitter. Light dark fruit. Bit watery, sure, but nice flavor.

Uhhh....this is a stout? It was my last beer of the day at Natifest. It was weak, watered down, tad choppy, bitter, a little coffee

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (750 ml). Shared by Anne, thanks! Black with a medium mostly diminishing reddish brown head and some lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, light smoke, roasted malt and light caramel. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with milk chocolate, roasted malt, light smoke and light caramel. Light to medium carbonation. Silky mouthfeel. Medium body. Good Stout. Light, smooth and drinkable. A tad too "milky" for my liking though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Some chocolate and coffee notes in this very smooth stout. No sense of carbonation here and no noticeable bitterness. I was expecting to be disappointed based on reviews, but going to Yellow Belly for lunch so thought I’d try anyway. Very impressed. I’m not sure where the "Guinness clone" thought comes from. I thought they were quite different. The taste is perhaps a touch mild, but not by much, the aroma could definitely do to be stronger. This was a very pleasant drink, and if I eat at Yellow Belly again, this is what I will be drinking.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewpub. Pours an opaque black with tan head. Nose of roasted malt. Initial taste mild burnt flavor, bitterness, then the chocolate, roast, and biscuit flavors come through. This was the only local stout I found in Newfoundland. Decent dry stout, but not as big as I prefer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very little head at first, but it is foaming up a little bit as it sits. Dead black, with a tan head that is actually increasing a bit more. Good roasty aroma, a bit of coffee in there. Very mild bitterness at the beginning. I think this needs to warm up a bit. After a few minutes, the good stout bitterness becomes more pronounced, but still not as much as you’d like. Palate is also a little thinner than it could be. Overall, a nice beer, but could be a bit bigger.
