COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial Amber Ale stands on its own, but was designed to complement the aroma of a fine cigar. A combination of German Vienna and American 2-Row malts provide a notable backbone and an initial flavor reminiscent of vanilla. The beer is then dry-hopped twice to finish with an herbal character.

Great aroma for an amber. Nice hoppy smokey aroma. Nice hoppy taste with the aroma. Clear to cloudy with a thin head. Sweet on the tongue very balanced. Nice beer.

Bottle. Poured amber with a frothy off-white head that has some lasting and left good lace. Floral aroma. The flavor found floral hops and a toasted malt backing. Medium body, smooth, and a medium bitterness.

Very bitter, but nice citrusy finish. Imperial Amber ale is something I can compare, but I enjoyed this brew.

Bottle from fresh spirits. Pours Iced tea brown with a small khaki head. A bit boozy on the nose. Lots of alcohol on the tongue with a touch of bitterness on the finish. I donít smoke so maybe it would have been different if I did.

Bottle from fresh spirits - pours a clearish orange- brown with a white head, nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, of the floral piney variety. Taste is a flag of bitter which quickly vanishes. Overall, not sure how true to style this one is, but itís not my thing.

coolpop (1395) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Draft sampled at Magic City Brewfest. Poured dark amber with almost no head. Aroma was sweet, honey, caramel, floral, grassy. Flavor was malty, caramel, very sweet, honey, some vanilla. Thick mouthfeel. Booze was well integrated. Never had an "imperial amber" before. Strikes me as a barleywine. Too sweet for me, but had some interesting elements.

On tap at The Nook Huntsville AL. Clear copper color with a very small white head. Served a bit cold. Nose is a bit sweet, honey, with alcohol present. First taste is very hot and alcoholic, sugary and sticky. Body is oily and a bit cloying with a medium palate. Reminds me more of a barleywine rather than an amber. Overall a bit too hot and messy, a mixture of styles that didnít really come together for me.
