COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Huckleberry Wheat is bear food in a bottle! Most other fruit beers have such a tart snap that you can't taste the beer. The Huckle-Weizen is BEER with just enough huckleberry to make you yearn for the wilderness!

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2007 Re-rate - (11/16/07) picked up a single 12-oz bottle from the brewery in Billings, Montana. Pours a semi-clear golden blond brew with a creamy white head that dissolves slowly to a film top and white ring. Some spotty lacing but quite thick in the glass. Aroma of light white bread with a soothing huckleberry scent. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, with a mild tart huckleberry, wheat and a touch flowery hops. Finish is smooth, light with a distinct huckleberry aftertaste. I have had several huckleberry fruit beers in Montana over the past year. This is one of the best huckleberry flavored beverages.

First rating (10/14/07)- infected bottle.

hazy yellow, fine white head, sweet fruity berry aroma, starts sweet and fruity and then takes an abrupt u-turn with tartness, well balanced as a result

Appearance: Pours a pale golden body with a small, fizzy-looking white head. Smell: Boom. There you go. Huckleberries. Taste: This beer offers enough of the fruity, juicy huckleberry quality we all seek without getting excessive about it. Beyond that, there’s just a soft hint of wheat and lemon. Finishes crisp and tart. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Finally, a beer that allows me to get my huckleberry "fix".

Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet, fruity berries and some mild pale malt. Starts with a mild sugary sweetness turning into a fruity tartness toward a thinner, sweet-tart finish. Fairly interesting, balanced, and drinkable.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy golden color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of floral, I’m assuming huckleberries as it was berries but have never smelled a huckleberry before, and wheat. Tastes of tart berries (again I assume huckleberies), wheat, and lightly bready. This one grew on me as I drank the bottle.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2007 12oz bottle-Aroma of huckleberry on a slightly hazy light amber body. Taste of sour and more sour. Could have potential. Not the worst but not the best.

Bottle. Interesting. Wheat and fruit on the nose. Quite sour on the palate. Is this a fruit or a sour? I’m not sure what to think of this. Decent, but odd.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2007 Not bad. Cloudy orange and lightly carbonated. I don’t know what a huckleberry tastes like but the flavor of this beer is very similar to Pyramid apricot. Mostly sweet, but some sour in the finish. There does not seem to be any artificial flavors so that is good.

Nose is sweet and gives a nice earthy huckleberry aroma. the flavor is nice and sweet, and shows off the huckleberries. Call me a homer, but I miss my MT huckleberries.

Bottle. The pour left a fairly thin head, leaving a pinkish-amber appearance in the glass. Carbonation seemed about right for a Hefeweizen. The berry flavor is highly aggressive, and leaves a sour-bitter aftertaste. It sits well, and once you get used to the sour-sweet note, it is drinkable. Not a fan of the finish: it was quite long and bitter. I love a good Hefeweizen: this is not recommended for true Weizen drinkers: taste resembles a wine cooler more than a Hefeweizen. If they were to market this as a wine cooler or something other than a quasi-Weizen, I’d be happier with it.
