A dark copper speciality bitter with a late hopping floral bouquet, it is rich & hoppy yet sweet & luscious at the same time!

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2014 Dry hops and malt on the nose, then a big malty Ovaltiney palate with peaches and black treacle on the tongue, dry bitter overtones, then dried fruit and bitter in the aftertaste. Re-rate, this time I’m also getting a notable and pleasing floral, almost peach blossom, aroma. Excellent!

Bottle at home into a pint glass. Pours a clear red-brown colour with a pillowy white head; quite effervescent. Interesting aroma of biscuit malt and rich hop. Floral and spicy. Taste is more biscuit malt, sweet and almost crunchy with a medium bitterness. Dry finish, with more leafy hop and herbal bitterness. Overall, a really nice beer. Interesting, loads of flavours and would definitely have another. After some so-so to awful beers lately I really appreciate this.

The Felix (JDW), Nuneaton, 13/01/12. Copper capped with off-white. Orange and blackcurrant-hinting aroma. Good juicy fresh hop taste; tangerine peel, lemon zest, berry-like impressions easing into cashew and digestive biscuit. Tangy and balanced.
