Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
A very attractive alternative to the classic Pils. The Yerseke’s Mosselbier offers more color and more taste. First you taste the bitterness of the hops, immediately followed by a light sweetness of the roasted malt. The dark amber color in a special flute glass is an enrichment for the table.

Bottle. bb 05/07/09. Pours light amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, cooked, caramel. Near medium body with rather frothy carbonation. Flavor is cooked caramel, but not sickeningly sweet. Hop is minimal. It’s drinkable.

Wish I tasted this with a fresher palate, but getting light caramel and pretty pale fruit, lemony notes. Off-clear apricot color with only light foam, and fairly still fine carbonation. Nose is peachy, lightly sweet with perfumey fruit. Charming ’small’ beer and the aroma is worth the try.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours a lovely, darkish golden colour with a fine, creamy, white head on top. Buttery aroma, some caramel, and flowery hops. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is interesting, if a little weird. Sweet and malty - almost bordering on brewing cereal. Then some roasted malts look past and is replaced by a fair amount of flowery hoppiness. Relatively dry in the finish. As a pale lager, this is quite good. As a Bohemian Pilsner, it is below par.

Tasting at Brewtopia. Boring. Gold pour, white head. Aroma is malty, grainy and almost some butter. Flavor isnt that great. Almost has a stale malt/yeast flavor...not well done at all.

25 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Dry brewmash aroma. Oxidised flavour with notes of caramel and dry malt base. Ends dry and malty. Bottle was 1 year after BBD, would be nice to rerate a fresher bottle.

250ml bottle from Beers Of Europe. A bottle conditioned pale lager. Buttery flavour - not full diacetyl, more pleasant. A little dirty tasting from the yeast. Crisp carbonation. Apart from the carbonation this is like a British Golden Ale, but it’s a lager - which some of the British Golden Ales are. It’s more interesting than the average lager, but it’s not that good, and it’s not that tasty.

Bottle @ home.
Clear light orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully dimimnishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy buttery. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. ( acrid / rancid / bitter flavor ). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (230408)
