3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can from Tallinna Kaubamaja food department. BB was due in June which explains the € 1,60 price tag (I think I did buy it on the last day of June). Pours a clear, light amber with huge, frothy, white head - retains nicely, good lacing. Aroma is a pungent mix of citrusy and resinous, floral, and slightly biscuity (is that Simcoe in there?). Taste... well, it’s a (grapefruit seed) bitter hop bomb. Also a bit biscuity and yeasty. Light to medium body. Soft to medium carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Stong, long lasting bitter finish, slightly spicy. Pretty good!

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted 7/6/2014. Poured a cloudy golden honey colour with a few millimetres of white froth that diminished quickly to a collar. Laced poorly. Carbonation low with medium sized bubbles. Aroma dominated by sweet fruity hops; very nice. Taste defined by a very strong hops bitterness which was quite biting/sharp up front. Light to medium body. Lingering bitterness with a bit of a tart finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Kveldens tredje japanske boksøl på Mandag i annen denne nydelige maikvelden: en ipa på 7% er kanskje i overkant for stilen. Det virker som de har brukt mye bitterhumle men lite aromahumle. Kvass i smaken, mye gress. En 50-50 blanding med den foregående (Yona Yona) var et vellykket privat ekseperiment.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
350 ml can, ABV 7%, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly moderate aroma for an IPA, some fruity and piney hops, a hint of caramel. The flavour however is distinctly hoppy, with a solid bitterness from start to finish. Grapefruity and piney notes. Some malty sweetness, but not too much. The amount of bittering hops seems just right, but they could have added the aroma hops more liberally.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
350 ml can bought at The Bottle Shop in Sai Kung.
Translucent amber honey colour with no yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Moderate sticky lacing with slight carbonation; Quite fragrant aroma of ale malt, with light grapefruit, pineapple, honey, light floral, molasses and light yeast; Close to medium sweet taste of ale malt, with grapefruit flesh and zest, molasses, pine, resin, biscuits, light yeast, strong lemon and lime, and strong bitter grassy hops; Medium body. Slick and quite oozy palate; Mouth Feel is American-micro IPA, with decent malty body, strong zesty grapefruit, floral, pine and ooze. Sweetness is right, dry and quite biscuit. Good!... Hoppiness is sharp zesty grapefruit, pineapple and flower in nose, citrus zest, pine , resin and spice in taste; Bitterness is decently strong, fresh, sharp and grassy hops for a lasting and licking bitter-sweet finish; Quite dry after taste, Bitter sweet and quite oozy to mouth.
Comments: This is much stronger than the easy but lightweight Yona Yona Ale. As a full-on IPA, everything from body, looks smell, taste and hops are right-on decent, with enough mean streak to please. If they go a step further then this one will be spectacular. A very enjoyable IPA nevertheless!
