3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light orange colored, huge yellow head. Citrus-flowery hopped aroma with thin pine, good ipa aroma for me. Medium bodied. Flavor is more fruity in start, lemon also here. Aftertaste dries with pine and flowers, grassy note lasts.

Can. Big up to Johan B for this one!
Pours clear orange to copper. Both aroma and flavor is rich hopy. There is also a touch of grape in the flavor. Quite dry and leaves a fair amount of bitter aftertaste which I like! Only negative is that I sense some perfume in the flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Tokyo Real Ale fest, from an oak cask. Havent tried the can yet but Im told this was better. Almost no head, light amber body. Very hoppy flowers and pine on the nose, sweet malts. Nice. Taste was hoppy pine and forest greens, sweet malts and earth notes, bitter finish. Very soft palate, a bit oily. Very nice.

Can. Very hoppy aroma, malt is a bit thin. Some citrus in those American hops. flavor shows up a littl more malt, but still it is a little watery. Decent hops, for sure, but comes across more like a light bitter. A bit too thin. Not a bad beer overall, but not near as good as the 18th Century IPA that is seems to have replaced. Balance is lacking.
(I’m not angry that it comes in cans, even though this one IS a bit metallic. the price is great for Japan).
