From the can. Pours hazy, Dank hop aroma, sharp pine/citrus hops on the palate backed up by some malty sweetness.

Can from World Beers. Hazy gold pour with a lot of sediment at the finish. Short white head with decent retention and leaving moderate lace. Nose is balanced: citrus and malty light fruits – very pleasant. Medium-heavy body and moderate carbonation. Oranges, apricots, tea, biscuit and pine. It has characteristics of some of my favorite IPAs, but in small amounts. Finish is quite bitter, which may be a function of age or distance or storage conditions. Surprisingly good and well-balanced. If I could get this at a decent price it would be in regular rotation.

Can shared at Slutfest 3, Richmond, VA, 4/21/12. Pours a clear amber color with lots of particulates. Aroma of nutty, toasted malts and citrus hops. The taste is citrus hops and pale caramel malts. Medium bodied.

Butters (3946) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 21, 2012
Sampled at Slutfest 3. Can pours clear golden with LOTS of suspended particulate. Surprisingly still has a fair amount of hops on it. Lightly buttery on the nose, but the flavor is spicy hops with a little pine and resinous. Not too bad at all. And the can is pretty sweet, but way overpriced.

Dredd (714) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - APR 19, 2012
Aroma is a bit subdued, hoppy sweet biscuit aroma coming from a coppery amber pour and thin white head. Initial flavour is that biscuity sweetness with a hint of stonefruit and a bitterness that is there but not too overbearing. Considering the 7% abv it is not acrid like a lot of IPA/DIPA’s

Aroma is malty biscuit, a slight amount of cardboard, floral hops, and a metallic twinge. Slightly biscuit forward and yeasty. I like. Clean, Japanese-technical German-style. Taste is biscuit slight cardboard, floral, and a touch of citrus. Finish is clean and cutting. Decent.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2012 Can shared with Linh. Pours a bright, ultra thick hazy orange body with white lacing. Aroma is über sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth with notes of sweet malt, light citrus fruit, and light citrus hops. This could actually be a good IPA when fresh.

Can from local supermarket (Misugiya). Dark hop (not citrusy). Maybe mostly bittering hops in this one -- not much aroma. Light orange-brown color with tiny carbonation. Incredibly rocky head -- like a broken meringue. Pleasant malt with a hard hop aftertaste. Light carbonation. Medium-full body, a bit chewy. A decent IPA, tasty, and more or less balanced.

Hazy honey golden coloured body with a slightly darker copper glow and a perfect, two centimetre tall off-white that pours out of the can absolutely amazingly - just be quick. Aroma of fresh grassy and herbal hops with a bit of a medicinal and metallic note to them. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and piney hops noticeable with a little malt texture showing and some caramel and almost earthy flavours toward the end. Aftertaste shows a good balance of hops and malt with some sweetness and more body at the tail end - nice. Overall, a solid beer that hovers more toward the APA or EPA side of things, but with a nice body and solid flavour profile - a nice offering. However, the price and availability are a bit of a bummer though. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased right here at home - amazingly enough - I didn’t have to goto Japan to bring this one back - this was purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 30-July-2011 for US$5.50 sampled at home in Washington on 21-January-2012.
