3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Solid IPA from Yoho Brewing in Japan (perhaps only bested in Japan by Suruga Bay!) Pours a dark cloudy golden colour. Medium head that lingers. Light to medium bitterness. Banana creamy and the normal citrus. Very palatable and easy to drink. Not a blow-your-head-off IPA - which is nice. And I’m going to say it - I *like* that it’s in a can. Not many good IPA’s in cans and they are easier to transport, take in your kayak, take in your backpack while hiking... yup.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 350ml can on 8/6/2015. Has a light tropical fruit nose. Take a sip and you get quite a bit of caramel malt, with some toffee, along with some sweet peach and apricot. There’s a good dash of hops in there, but not much grapefruit or resin as you’d normally expect in a US style IPA. Medium body and average carbonation. More than decent.

Can from Shop in World of Porters, Yokohama. Clear golden colour with slim white head. Juicy hoppy fruity aroma. Great citrus hoppy bitter taste, grapefruit, pineapple. Medium body, moderate carbonation, nice spicy hoppy bitter finish. Really glad I put a couple of these in my suitcase!

At Verna's. Smells of toasted cereal/grain, sweet florals. Tastes of semi-sweet blueberry in a slightly chemical way, almost cough syrup-ish.

From 35ml can bought at Daiei Supermarket in Oita. Surprisingly good, well-balanced IPA. Clear pale yellow colour with longish-lasting beige head. Aroma of lemony hops, tangerine, sweet spices. Soft on the palate with medium carbonation. Good balance of hoppiness, bitterness and sweet elements. Flavours of cloves, bitter orange, apricot. Very tasty.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A solid, drinkable West-Coast style IPA. Floral aromas, pleasant bitterness, and a smooth, if thin, body. One of the better IPAs in Japan.

0.35L can. Clear golden body with fat white top, disappears little, but remaining foam stays. Boiled vegetable and sour milk aroma. Caramellic start, vegetable, lemon peel, corn, grass flavors. Quite standard IPA. Nothing to missed and nothing interesting inserted. Drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2015 Poured into a SA Perfect Pint showing caramel honey golden with half a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows a lot of steel tank notes and some floral hops with hints of tropical fruit and slight cannabis.
The palate is a clean maltiness balanced by the floral hops, a mid palate of steel tank, but a somewhat soft sharp IPA bitterness. Easy to approach and drink, surprisingly a pretty good IPA by a Japanese brewery.
