UPDATED: JUN 25, 2009 Light copper with some amber. Aroma has some light bitterness, some pine, earth, and slightly sweet malts. Bitterness hits a lot harder in the flavor. Some citrus and pine, light sweet malt backbone. Lemon comes through just barely. Bitter finish with a slight oiliness. Not all that complex, but nice. Crisp, medium body, Nice and bitter for a Japanese IPA but a little lacking in overall flavor. Iíd buy it again, though. (Just bought a can of this last night for 140 yen. Thatís cheaper than some of the crappy pale lagers available in Japan. Unbeatable for that price)

A Mes rate: Can at GBBF thanks very muchly to Rob Beer.
An odd but attractive green gold colour with a very good white head and excellent condition. Good malt, good hops and very well balanced. Slightly raw in the flavour. A little too much alcohol but the really pleasing malt saves the day. A U.S. like IPA hoppy finish with eventual thick malt. Great length. A damn good canned beer.

Can at GBBF with a glass of cheese and a plate of beer, its all gone wrong. Alround rating: Biscuity malts, richer malts too, grassy and intencly bitter, an interesting and different ipa.

Light orange colored, huge yellow head. Citrus-flowery hopped aroma with thin pine, good ipa aroma for me. Medium bodied. Flavor is more fruity in start, lemon also here. Aftertaste dries with pine and flowers, grassy note lasts.

Tampa crew rocks it. Can. Apricot/gold pour. White head. Simple hoppy aroma with a fair malt bill. Flavor is simple and straight forward. Easy drinking with the light herbal and citrus hops.

Had this at Max and Jessís housewarming, can brought back from RBSG courtesy of KyotoLefty. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Honey and citrus, caramel. Crisp honey and citrus. Earthy grapefruit and malt on the end.

Can from Healthy Spirits. Pours light amber with a thick off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a solid caramel malt flavor with a bitter citrus finish. Refreshing and drinkable, but a little too harsh.

Can. Pours with a mountain of foam that slowly and sublimely subsides in a still solidly thin topping of sticky goo. The initial aroma is light, but decidely nutty. This drinks then with a unique essence of exceptionally dry citrus peel and immature pine. (#4164, 7/12/2011)

Can from Bottlecraft. Hazed orange colored beer with a large, dense, slightly off-white head. Musty hop nose of chalk dust with tropical fruit notes akin to mango and pineapple. Mellow flavors....fruity for the most part and balanced allowing some of the hop bitterness to come out a bit but with malts strong enough to make it quite fruity. Nothing out of the ordinary here and the hops kind of lose focus in the finish where the malt profile overshadows but at the same time, gets a little flimsy. Decent though I suppose.

Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. Clear gold beer, little white head. Light crisp palate. Sweetish pale malt with a touch of honey. Good bittering hops with a hint of marmalade citrus. Semi dry minerally finish. Intertesting.
