COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
I’m sorry!

Can. Dark brown, amber highlights, medium gold-beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel, soy, and burnt malt with fruity undertones. Sweet profile, chocolate, fruity caramel, scorched malt, golden syrup. Bordering on cloying and sticky, with a harsh ashy quality that clashes. This thing is all over the place, and isn’t very drinkable as a consequence. A much sweeter imperial porter than the Mikkeller offering, and poorly balanced by comparison.

Stiprus ir smagus japoniškas imperinis porteris, kuris labiau pagal sausumą panašėja į stautą. Visai nesijaučia alkoholio.

Black colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, light smoky tones. Light bitter flavour, umami, like roasted shi-take mushrooms, coffee, mocha, sweet dried fruits. Roasted finish, mocha coffee, caramel, sweet dried fruits. Nice brew!

Thanks FatPhil! Opaque black color, small beige head. Toasted aroma is not so strong, has some licorice and coffee. Medium-bodied. A bit thin for the ABV. Toasted malty, cigar ashy, slightly medicinal flavor. Alcoholic finish, low bitterness. Fernet branca -like porter.

Can from Yamaoka. Pours almost black with ruby hints, almost no head. Aroma has soy sauce, malts and some berries. Flavour is dominated by umami, with some nice raspberry and malt. Very rich with a long aftertaste.

350 ml can from Drink Shop (€ 1,92); BB was due in April 2014 (!!!). They must have deep cellars to forget about something like this for such a long time. Pours dark brown - black in the glass - with a ruby-mahogany hue and a thick tan head. Nose is sweet molasses, roasted malts and coffee, cedar seeds, black rice, lactic... gets (milk) chocolaty as it warms. Taste chocolaty sweet with considerable roastiness, caramel, slightly ashy, kind of savoury, but mostly just sweet. Sweet, only slightly bitter finish. Palate soft and (oaty) smooth with mild carbonation, body mediumish. Overall I think there’s just too much going on in this beer - would love to try tuned down versions of it, with just a couple of all the quirky ingredients they have here, more pronouncedly. It may be somewhat messy, overly complex (?!?!) and too sweet but it’s still quite good I think.

Can@rööperifest. Black, with a small whiteish head. Dark, salty licorice, with a surprising berry infusion. Raspberries? Or cherry or something. Fullish body. Sort of nice texture. Firm, not overpowering. Soft milky finish. Decent. All right.

Aroma is malty with chocolate and cocoa. Flavour has soy sauce, licorice, alcohol, some cocoa and tobacco. Dry finish with some rising sweetness towards the aftertaste. A bit unusual porter at all its dryness and tobacco notes.
