from Erzbierschof; canned - quite clear golden beer with a moderate foam left; aroma of hay and coriander, a bit citric; moderate malt backbone and carbonation; aftertaste of cardamom and straw

February 15th, 2014 - Dawwww, just look at that can! The wee cat with the patchwork features and the studied expression. How could I not buy this beer? A relatively inexpensive cat with the hallmark Japanese cute all around it? Oh! And the beer is pretty good. A paler yellow, clear, and a heady top, this looks like so many other beers readily available from every convenience store and willing vending machine, but the smell is thick and redolent with the usual Hefeweizen notes, with heavy touches of wheat and coriander. The taste is blinded at first by a stinging carbonation, but reveals itself in the middle, with banana and clove and more of that wheat palate. This flavor intensifies until the aftertaste, where the banana and clove overtake the grain bill, and where a meek note of vanilla waves briefly before ducking back under. As a stand alone Hefeweizen, but as a common beer in Japan, it is superb. And again, THAT CAT AWWWWWW.

Can. Watery, light spicy witbier with green apples in the taste and cardboard in the finish. Badly executed and additionally flawed due to the trip to Europe it had to take.

Can in Tokyo. Golden body with medium head. Nose is corny, eggy, metallic. Taste is very floral, sweet, perfumed. Really creamy. Enjoyable beer.

350 ml can. (Prisma) Tallinn, Estonia.
Clear golden color with a tiny white head. Spices, dryness, mild yeast and malt in the aroma. The flavor is yeast, wheat, spices and rubber. Not very tasty witbier.

Crystal clear !. firm white head. Wonderful spicy wit aroma. On the palate quite smooth and round, I am missing a little the crisp citrus notes. As a wit it’s a bit boring, but all in all a nice easy drinking beer.

Almost clear, golden beer with a pure white foam. Mildly sour aroma with a hint of yeast. This is like a belgian style wheat but watery. It is good but flavors and aromas should be at least twice this strong. Decent.

4.5%ABV. Belgian Witbier. Poured ouf of the can a light, clear gold color, almost white, 2şSRM. Nose was full of sweet wheaty, doughlike odors. Full of lager like yeasty malty flavors. Mouthfeel is watery and light. There are some light biscuit-like flavors then a brief hop finish. Commercial-grade. Uninteresting and unimpressive.

Can at Uncle in Denver. Pour is slightly hazy Goldberg with a big white head and great lacing. Citrusy, orange peel, biscuits, lightly bready, coriander, white pepper and basil in the aroma. Taste is doughy, Belgian yeasty, white pepper, citrusy, waxy, and honey with a spicy finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Solid offering and fun to try.
