COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

ALLOVATE (2109) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2013
At just on cool and into a stumpy tulip. Black, brilliant and with ruby highlights showing showing in the very shallows. Capped off by a dense, tannish crown that holds but manages little lace. Light caramel, smoke, Belgian waffles fresh toasted and topsoil make up the interesting waft that tickles the nostrils. Medium light in body, creamy and subtle overall on the palate with a prevalent malty, smoky, charred wood flavour. Good hit of dark chocolate and vanillin. Finish is ashen with a supple, caramel sweetness that lingers. Lacks depth but arguably a very easy drinking Porter. Like it, but it is a little forgettable. maneliquor (1564) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2013
Can from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head which slowly disappears. Nose is quite sweet - full of chocolate and vanilla, hint of citrus. Has that salty dryness about it. Very dry and chocolate driven with some hop bitterness and light liquorice. Solid

Barely one half a finger head. Metallic nose, but pouring from a can. Lightly roasted malts with just a touch of bitterness on the finish. No real complex flavors, but so tasty I’d want to session like session black.

Black pour, no head. Aroma of burnt malt and licorice, similar taste, quite flat.

Can:   Deep brown, thin beige head, sudsy, sparce lacing.   Nose is slightly pasture like.   Otherwise soft roastiness and a little (touch) of lactose.   Mild bitterness on the tongue.   Make that VERY mild bitterness.   Slight cocoa and watered down coffee on the backside.   Not a big Porter, and certainly not like a west coast example.   Remains flavorful tho from start to finish.   Decent example.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Has a decent body at least.

Can, could not see size but likely 35 cl or so, thanks to Ingo! Sampled on April 8, 2013. Marked (BB?) 13.04, purchased late December 2012.
Dark brown color, big brown head. Sweet, roasted, chocolate scent. Malty, sweet, cocoa taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Nice and drinkable, I enjoyed this one a lot.

11.8oz can, shared by caterwaul. Sticker on can reads 3/9/12. Very dark brown color. Thin, light brown bubbly head. Good spread of lace. Really nice nose... Dark chocolate, some charred wood, some good coffee, bit of dark fruit. Very complex. Light smoke, medium body. More light, smooth drinkable texture, with a lighter carbonation and more of a dry finish. Lightly creamy. Good roast malt. Nice, mostly bitter taste. Great, flavorful, drinkable, enjoyable porter.
