Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

Burk från systembolaget. Kaffefärgad med stort ljusbrunt skum. Blöt rostad doft av mörk choklad och kaffe. Lätt i munnen utan att på något sätt vara klen. Smaken går åt mörk choklad. Trevlig beska

350ml can poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a large creamy thick tan head with good retention. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malts and muscovado. Flavours of milk chocolate, roasted malts, muscovado and a hint of coffee. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium-light bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, creamy texture and average carbonation. Overall a great porter and one of the best beers I have tasted from East Asia.

Can from SB cons 2014-08-03 Göteborg, last day of the holiday (5 weeks) AR: roasted malt, coffey and chocolate - dark and bitter, wee white sugar AP: dark brown with yellow rim, high frothy fluffy dinishing dark brown foam F: rich, carbonation, vanilla chocolate, bitter black coffey, dry and wee white sugary sweetnees, wee liqurice (salt), smooth feeling, great body but a bit short, finishes wee lingering chocolate, I thought it had 7-8% ABV, but there is only 5%!

Pours black with half a finger of chocolate milk coloured head. Surprisingly bright malty scents at first on the nose, some dried mushrooms, light licorice and coffee aromas, japanese soy sauce and wet wool. Palate is almost medium bodied with a relatively high amount of carbonation, fairly dry for a porter with some medium roasted malt flavours, medium finish and moderate bitterness. Tasty porter but a bit nondescript. Tastes like a good session beer but at 5% ABV it's on the verge of being too strong for that purpose. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
