COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

Aroma of espresso and toasty malt. Sips pretty thin and watery. Taste of bitter chocolate and hops prevail. I wouldn’t seek out again

Black body, brown head. Aroma has roasted malts, chocolate and some berry like notes. Robust. Bit thinnish. Nice porter but not the best one.

4/23/2011. From can. Pours mahogany with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas with dried fruit, chocolate and coffee. Good bitterness and body. Probably my favorite from this brewer.

Can from Hasegawa Liquors, Tokyo Station. Deep black colour, off white head. High initial carbonation. Stout end of porter, deepnrasty flavours, burnt, some cocoa. Hint of boozy molasses and brown sugar. A tasty beer.

Can. Nearly black body, small beige head. Aroma has milky roast with some ash and leather seats. Smooth roasty taste with a semi-milky finish. Reminds me of Fuller’s London Porter but it’s a bit drier and less chocolatey. Nice, but for obvious reasons it’s too expensive here to have it regularly.
