Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

At the 8th tasting (round 1), held at Vlada Beerville pub in Belgrade-Serbia. Can. Many thanks KansaiBeerLvrs. Pours oily black color with some brownish highlights, huge ivory tick cap with retention. Nose: coffee beans, florall, grass. Nice! Mouth: light and easy drinking, clean, hidden coffee, mild herbal notes, fresh and different.

Pours black, head is dark. Aroma is of coffee. Taste has a lot of coffee too. It is too much coffee for me, lacking some body and creaminess on palate.

330ml can at the 2nd Annual Midlands tasting: cheers Gary for this offering. Poured black with a tanned head: Malts rule the roost here, dark malty molasses ooze chocolate and coffee esters in the nose and carry on into the taste. Mild liquorice flavouring as the beer warmed in the glass.

Can share round at Richy’s. Nearly black. Sticky, tan head. Roast malts. Liquorice. Slightly woody. Taste is fruity dry, with some caramel sweetness. Finishes fruity dry, and slightly chewy. A tad odd, though I quite liked it.

Pours pitch black with sparse white foam on top. The nose shows a simple dark chocolate and roasted coffee. The palate is extremely light bodied with a bitterness that tends to stem much more from the hops than anything else. A light roasted malt flavor permeates throughout but it’s otherwise a porter made for the Japanese palate. To afraid to try bolder or stronger flavors.

"Det ska ändå blandas i magen", är en vanlig kommentar när tallriken ser ut som en katastrofscen. Tokyo Black Porter kan man på liknande vis ursäkta med stickrepliken: "Den ska ändå pissas ut." Vatten under broarna, öl under bältet - drick och glöm, helt enkelt.
