COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

350 ml can, ABV 5%, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, large tan head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee, dark unsweetened chocolate and woodwork. Dry roasty flavour, not "robust" but nicely balanced, notes of mild coffee and burnt breadcrumbs, hint of dark unsweetened chocolate. Moderate hops. Enjoyable.

Some caramelized and roasted malt on aroma. A little of that floral aroma they mention. Pours dark mahogany with decent head and lacing. Finishes medium bitter with a light dose of sweetness. Can at American Ice.

Pours deep black from the can with a dark tan head. Big aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, roasted malts, toffee. Taste is coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Nicely sweet, but not too much. Medium full mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation. Very nice porter. True to style and a real pleasure to drink. Enjoyed in Narita, Japan.

Nästan svart öl med ljusbrunt skum. Doft av choklad, lätt rostade toner och mörka bär. Viss fruktighet, kola, choklad och rostade toner i smaken. En bra och ganska rakt fram porter. Lätt med sina 5%.

On tap @ Popeye in Tokyo, Japan. Aroma brings deep chocolate, plums, raisins and dark fruits. Appears black with no foam at all. Taste is deep dark fruits, plums, grapes, port wine, figs, strong coffee, espresso and cocoa powder. Finish leaves chocolate, coffee and moderate booze. Overall, nice porter with a port wine twist. Good stuff. A rating.

American porter 5% ABV APPEARANCE: Poured out a deep motor oil black. Even up to the light you can not see through this. Small tan head that settle into a small halo. AROMA: Very intense and in your face coffee aroma. Chocolate and molasses in the mix with a almost metallic cooked blood smell of iron hiding in the shadows. TASTE: Chocolate right up front with the coffee. It literally reminds me of a mocha latte. Some bitterness in the middle, sweet malts some faint hops. Finishes smokey and toasty. MOUTHFEEL: Very light body for a porter. I'm assuming that mixed with the low ABV was the intention of an everyday drinking porter. Minimal carbonation. Slight creaminess in the beginning but thins out on the swallow. OVERALL: Very interesting and complex beer. Easy to drink, I will say this is the best Japanese porter I have had. RATING: 3.5/5 Zombie Heads! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

350 ml can. Pours black with a lasting creamy film on top. Aroma is espresso, dry cocoa, cola and molasses. Flavor is molasses, spicy green herb, apple, semi-sweet chocolate, espresso and dry grass. Long finish shows some mint and char. Light-medium body is nearly astringently dry and a little too fizzy with flare-ups in the mouth.
