Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

My last thank you to Chris for his very thoughtful gift. Pours black with a medium, although short lasting, tan head. The aroma is roasted, with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and some slight licorice as well. The taste brings out a lot more of the chocolate. Coffee flavors are still there, and there is some smokiness as well. Lighter in body, with an oily and somewhat thinner texture. Short aftertaste that is a smoky coffee. This is a pretty good porter. There is really cool artwork on the can as well.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Roasted malts, chocolates and some coffee. Black with a smell brown head. Nice taste, dark chocolates and malts, yet fresh and citrusy. Palate is quiet thin for a porter, on the other hand it gives a fresh feeling. Overall a strange beer. Tastes and smells very (!) appealing but the body is really thin.

Poured an opaque black with a slight mahogany edge tint and a one- to two-finger light tan foamy head that retained OK and laced well. Aroma of sweet malts; strangely for me no obvious roasted characters. Taste completely different to aroma being quite roasted malty. Medium body. Creamy and smooth with lingering roasted notes on the finish. Average for a porter.
