Tokyo Black is the second brand at YoHo. A robust porter, well balanced between the malt and the hops. The complex chocolate and roast flavours of dark specialty malts are combined with a floral and slightly spiciness from Perle hops.

Can share round at Richy’s. Nearly black. Sticky, tan head. Roast malts. Liquorice. Slightly woody. Taste is fruity dry, with some caramel sweetness. Finishes fruity dry, and slightly chewy. A tad odd, though I quite liked it.

12oz can. Darkest brown in color with a half finger tan head. Roasty and chocolatey aroma with maybe just the slightest metallic hint. The flavor is dry and bitter with sharp roast, cacao nibs, molasses, and anise. Medium-thin bodied with big bubbles. A good, enjoyable beer.

0.355l can (I guess since its all in Japanese) @ Apollon. Quite deep and dark in the glass this one, near black actually and not much of a head really. A thin sidesticking brown film perhaps. Smells nice and roasted. Lots of chocolate here. Dark chocolate, rich cold coffee, cocoa hints and a little vanilla trace. Nice aroma. Light oily texture in the mouth, almost a little watery and it’s about average on the bubbles. Tastes alright also. Light roasted, dry burnt, traces of both cardboard and thin coffee. Lots of thin coffee actually. A fair one. 17.12.2014

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks David Cohen. Black with dark tan head. A little sugar and some soy sauce aroma, also a little floral and roasty. Soy, roastiness, a little rich milk chocolate and then some nuts. Smooth, quite carbonated, full body, roasty finish with some raisins.

Thanks Ethan. Pours black with a small tan head. Robust nose of roast, chocolate, light vanillin. Flavor is more roast, coffee, some bitter hops. Mouthfeel a little thinner than expected, but overall better than expected.

Sampled at the Richmond Gather XIII. Black pour with good mocha head. Bambergy smoke on the nose. Deep rich roast and chocolate and earthy notes in the flavor. Surprisingly good. Very drinkable. Very enjoyable. Love that it comes in a can

cool can with little sumo dude. the beer pours out black with ruby highlights through a flashlight. a large, fluffy, brown head on top. very robust roasty aroma with coffee and milk chocolate. palate is milky with low carbonation. reminds me of a dry stout nitro can mouthfeel. flavor is much of what the aroma suggests. a really nice porter...just with they could get the stuff to the states a little cheaper.
