Can. Tasting at Ekstedt´s place. Thanks to deft. Hazy dark golden colour with a white head. Citrusy hops and caramel and toffee notes from the lightly toasted malt. Dry finish. Best among the japanese beers that we tried this evening.

Orange colored with big yellow head. Rich hopped aroma with flowers and even some piney lemony note, very good aroma indeed. Medium bodied. Flavor is chocolaty-caramelly in start, aftertaste turns to hopped with flowers, some dry grass also lasts. Well, nice start to Tokyo trip.

6th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Sweetish IPA - not much bitterness. Slightly dissapointed there was not more to this after the lovely Tokyo Black earlier in the year but decent nontheless.

Notes while sampling@Popeye’s, Tokyo, but also sampled @K6, Kyoto, Feb.09. Very small head compared to K6 where the head was beautifully thick and creamy. Discussed with bartender. No added carbonation @ Popeye’s to serve the real ale way. Anyway. it pours clear dark golden. Lovely inviting aroma of caramel and flowers. Sweet taste and some alcohol. good bitterness over the tongue. Recommended.

My wife brought this back for me from Tokyo. It pours a deep, golden color, similar to Boddingtons. It has a light, fizzy head and smells kind of fruity. First sip…spicey and complex. The fruity flavors are as evident in the taste as they are in the smell. Is it perhaps a little bit yeasty? This beer sort of reminds me of Boulder Beer’s Hazed and Infused. It’s hoppy, but not overpoweringly so. It’s very good. Yona Yona was sweet, fruity, slightly yeasty, and hoppy. Like I said, it’s complex.
