GoufCustom (749) - HONG KONG - MAY 4, 2014

350 ml can bought at The Bottle Shop in Sai Kung.

Translucent dark amber colour with no yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and light-beige foam which lasts for 1 minute; Moderate sticky lacing with very slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of grapefruit, light pineapple, honey, light floral, sugar and ale malt; Mid t olight sweet taste of ale malt, with very light grapefruit, molasses, light honey, pine, faint orange zest, light biscuits, light lime and light bitter grassy hops; Mid to light body, dry and slick palate; Mouth Feel is light pale ale, more of an light IPA than APA proper, with okay Ale maltyness, dry crisp body, really light grapefruit and orange, right molasses notes, good pine taste, and light yeast / biscuits. Easy… Hoppiness is light grapefruit and floral nose. Pine, light lime and light grass in taste. Bitterness is lightweight but enough for low-bitter semi finish; Dry after taste, crisp and easy to mouth.

Comments: This one is more of an IPA with everything from aroma to taste being brushed with a light touch, especially in American hops’ fruitiness and bitterness. It is for easy drinking and chilling out, but considering its high price, I wish more will be done for this to justify its APA tag.

From a can. Cloudy, sweet, almost like creaming soda, a little resin, smooth with some fruity flavours. A very nice beer.

Tap @ Yona Yona Beer Kitchen, Tokyo. Golden orange, good foamy head. Caramel malt hop aroma. Creamy spicy grain flavour. Smooth with bitter spicy resin aftertaste. Unusual & not bad.

Un bon équilibre entre houblon, malt, arômes fruités et d’agrumes. finale plutôt sèche avec une pointe d’amertume persistante.

Can: Thanks Miss B: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized, vast and thick, creamy foamy head on top of an almost clear pure orange colored beer. Aromas of hops, spft peach, some pine, pils malts, vanilla, some yeast, flowers and soap. Flavours of herbs, cream, some hops but more fruit tones, malts, caramel, bitters, very light sweet (sticky) tint, some soap, light tint of flowers and some light vanilla porridge tones. Afteraste is bitter, herbal, grapefruit malty and some porridge and vanilla. Low to medium carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture. I was hoping for a refreshing beer but this is quite thick and creamy, absolutely not bad but seems to be close to or maybe already passed BB... Still tasty!

330 ml can @ Izakaya,Oslo. March 08, 2014 Beer enjoyed from a 200 ml glass Dark golden to amber in color with a thin white head and medium carbonation. Aroma is fruity, malty and a touch of citrus. Tastes a bit sweet and has a citrus touch in the background A bit thin and weak in taste and lacks a bit hop in my opinion.

Can from Gambrinus. The smell is very promising, but the taste was just a little bit too floral and malty. Small amount of banana and nuts which still were in balance but still I’d just say it is good for drinking, but not enjoying (no offence). Still a very nice beer!

Gyllengul öl med ett bra vitt skum. Doften är fruktig och blommig och med en lätt maltighet. Maltigheten mer framträdande i smaken.

33 cl can @ home, BBE 14/2014 (20.04.2014 according to sticker)
Also some other marking on can bottom: 140127
Aroma is a bit odd with vegetables, some grain and butter. Flavour has buttery tones, some grainy malt and hints of peas. Harsh and lager-like, too low on hops to be an APA. I won’t be having one after this night.

Cask @ Beer Belly, Osaka as ”Yona Yona Real Ale”. Rated on 12.09.2011
Very light aroma, slightly sweaty and stale with some hops. Also some sweet malt when it warms up. Very smooth palate. Flavour is bitterish, light and somewhat sweet with some harsh malt and berries. Rather rich for a real ale, but the berries ruin the show.
