YONA YONA means EVERY NIGHT! YONA YONA ALE is exactly the beer you can enjoy Every night! Why don’t you try it in NAGANO?

Note: All different Japanese versions of Yona Yona ale go here, including the Real Ale hand pump version, the so-called "Real Ale" nitro can, keg, and regular can. Under RB rules, these are all the same beer.

Excellent citrus aroma of American cascade hop. Apprearance is clear pale orange. Fantastic flavor with fine hop and malt. Very sweet and light body like a soft drink. Thank you very much for wonderful time with Yona yona Ale in exactly every night!

This is my favorite of all Japanese beers. A very refreshing taste, crisp, with a unique "pine" aroma to it.

Cask gravity at GBBF 07. Really, really lovely hop. One of my favourite beers of the first day. Really drinkable. I thought it had great malt hop balance. Drinkable to the extreme, apparently, or so my notes say.

Wow. I just got this at whole foods. This is a really great brew. I never thought Japanese craft beer was this good. Canned, no doubt. A: Golden orange with a thing head, fine bubbles. S: Smell is actually rather boring.Thin whisps of orange/citrus malt. T: Its like light liquid bread with a light hops and a ultra light bitter. Very good balance of malt and hops. Utterly pleasant. M: Really good. Its creamy, light, smooth, slight carbonation. Veery good. M: Creamy, smooth, nice amount of carbonation--excellent. I need to find a way to buy cases of this stuff. Serving type: can

A lovely light amber color, opens up to a bouquet of critusy hops (cascade) and caramel malt. The body shows a good mingling of hops and malt and as the beer warms up apples, oranges and sherry provide the back bone that mixes in with sweet caramel malty overtones. Finishes dry like a good brute. Very refined. However, I think Mr. Ishii took some recipes with him from Stone. Malt profile quiet similar to Stone AB. This could easily pass for a Stone pale ale IMO. A definete must if visting Japan.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2011 Very very solid, with a sweet malt flavor and a lovely orange amber complexion. Goes down quite smoothly. Very well balanced and quite unique in the malt profile. I could drink it all night. Great for the price too

Can 330ml. Very nice beer. Aromas of apricot, biscuit, and caramel. Taste is mostly sweet, with good length. Palate is velvety, ticklish, and medium bodied. Amber, with a thin head.

I second Rapkungen. The best ale in Japan in my opinion. Smooth and good aroma.

My wife brought this back for me from Tokyo. It pours a deep, golden color, similar to Boddingtons. It has a light, fizzy head and smells kind of fruity. First sip…spicey and complex. The fruity flavors are as evident in the taste as they are in the smell. Is it perhaps a little bit yeasty? This beer sort of reminds me of Boulder Beer’s Hazed and Infused. It’s hoppy, but not overpoweringly so. It’s very good. Yona Yona was sweet, fruity, slightly yeasty, and hoppy. Like I said, it’s complex.

Nice wee pale ale with that American flavor but made in the Japanese Alps. It is this last fact that raises the beer up above its US counterparts in my view. Brewing hoppy beers in a markt that tht likes hophead beers is a lot less risky that brewing them for a market that thinks Asahi Super Dry is the tops.
