aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Dec 17, 2005 Bottle, thanks once again to Dan. Reddish-amber, transluscent. Bitter for an alt as josh pointed out. Some malty, sweet apple flavor comes out as it warms up along with caramel notes. A decent brew. joshpiledean (194), Ames, Iowa, USA Jan 8, 2005 IslandHaole sent me this brew. Slightly cloudy brown/red. Sweet malt aroma of caramel and a light bitterness. Rich and sticky malt flavor, not really sweet, but sticky. Strange bitter feel to it, but this is my first alt, so maybe this follows the style? Anyways, a nice change of pace, quite interesting indeed. IslandHaole (1030), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan May 30, 2004 I’ve been looking forward to the release of this seasonal beer for the past 10 months! A beautiful dark Amber color with a medium sized foamy tan head. The smell of specialized (Crystal/Munich?) malts with just a slight floral hoppiness. A very nicely balanced brew! Very tasty with a rich malt flavor up front and a lingering mild bitterness. In my opinion, the best of the brews offered by Tazawako Brewery.
