Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 3/11/09. Deep amber in colour with a moderate white head. Malty aroma of red currants and caramel, with some earthiness and bitter finish. Ok.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber brown with a cream head. Aromas are cookie dough with berries and citrus. Some weetabix with yeast and earthy hops. Flavours are toffee and chocolate with peppery light pine and grapefruit hops. Green apple with a fair degree of acidity. Earthy with some tea, A decent traditional bitter.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford in ’Spoon’s BF ’09. Amber with a white head. Malty aroma with a hint of raisins and milk. Some sharp apple peel in the taste, with a pleasant nutty bitterness.
