Cask at Queens Head Chelmsford. Golden colour with good white head that lasts. Little aroma and not much malt. Long dry bitter finish. Moreish. Good session beer. Needs more malt for higher rating.

Cask conditioned - no sparkler Malt Shovel Northampton BF. A mid brown beer with little aroma. The taste is slightly hoppy with lemon notes. A bit uninspiring.

Cask Conditioned, at the Market Porter, London.
Amber with a small white head. Very close to water this beer. You could drink it all day and barely taste a thing. This beer is very a very long, long session.

Light copper colour. Very dry and quite bitter. Not much malt character that I could discern. Finishes clean and dry. A good straightforward session bitter from a very reliable and go-ahead microbrewery. Handpump, The Speaker, London SW1, June 2003

Described, accurately, as a session bitter. Nicely hopped, almost like a true IPA, but not too much, to the extent that even my normally real ale avoiding companion was taken, and indulged in another (albeit a half). Looks great when just poured, a great amber texture, and nothing lingering to go sour in the aftertaste. I got to taste this at the actual brewery, where things are usually at their best, will reserve judgement on a higher overall mark until I find it somewhere else. When I do find it though, I'll be glad to partake of a glass.

(Cask at the brewery): Bright golden appearance, classed as bitter but more IPA-ish than many English IPA's. Long lingering mellow citrus aftertaste from the Fuggles.

Cask Conditioned at The Last Drop Inn, York. Mid brown to red in colour, easy drinking boys bitter but with a chunky solid flavour. Good balance with sweet malt and dry tangy hops.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2005 Cask, Wenlock Arms, with Linc. Bitterness to front - quite dusty like Goldings, but also a hint of lemon from possibly Target hops. Good mouthfeel for strength, slightly sweet - perhaps Marris Otter malt. Some tangy marmalade orange finish. Glowing amber colour. Sulphur on the nose. Good bitter. [2.9]

rauchbier (3775) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2002
Cask conditioned, Gravity dispense. Copper colour. Moderate hop aroma along with fruity malt. Good balance of toffeeish malt and hop flavour and a finish that starts malty sweet but becomes hop bitter at the end.
