3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Very deep brown, served in excellent condition. Chocolate malt rules the nose and the taste, backed by a full, creamy mouthfeel that makes this feel much stronger than it is. It drinks above its strength. Great stuff!

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask (handpump), The Maltings, York, October 2006. Dark reddish brown colour. I would have had this down as a mild, although there are some subtle earthy hop notes. Caramel malt notes are more prevalent. Pleasant enough.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival.
Murky dark brown. Nice coffee and earthy malt. Straight forward yet enjoyably drinkable mild.

Dark red-black. Thin and watery with no head. Caramel and sugar in the nose. In the mouth, mainly toffee. Bitter-sweet at the back of the mouth.

Some fruit aroma. Mid brown coloured and fruity with some earthy and spice flavours. Crisp full malt finish.
