This beer harks back to the classic English style IPAs. Hefty malt backing meets truck loads of hop flowers added to all stages of the process. The all Australian hop flavour is not aggressive in its bitterness, but is evident in flavour and aroma and slowly asserts itself with a lengthy, lingering and throughly enjoyable palette.

Pours light brown with a bit of foam. Aroma is hoppy and herbal fresh. Taste is also freshly hoppy. Wet hops? Nice and refreshing, feels good. Feels like a single hop beer. Good and easygoing.

Looks..very dark copper, mahogany even, sml head. Smells..piney and fruity, some roasty malts.. rye maybe.. Tastes..East drinking medium body on this, it’s piney, a little fruit, then it’s malty and little burnt or rye bitterness at the finish. Good quaffa’.

Pours a thin head with some lace. Huge fresh hops aroma which somehow doesn?t include an overwhelming bitterness. Some herby, grassy notes and a creamy smoothness to the palate. Butter and toffee notes at the end. Very nice!

Bottle. Aroma is pine dominated. Taste is alright, bit of hops, bit of toffee, not so exciting. Bit thin.

Mahogany color. Thick off white head. Lots of crystal malts, dry but overall very malty with a decent amount of hops. Starts ok but kinda dies overall quickly. Kinda goes no where, but ok.

Hand pump @ brewery. Sweet floral hop nose. Murky red/brown beer with solid tan head. Sharply zingy, light body. Finish is less floral, more bitter lemon. Nice, easy drinking.

Can into a snifter. Pours a dark amber with a fluffy off white head. Nose is citrus, and not much at that. Flavor is a little caramel, good citrus and lemon peel flavor, clean, slightly caremelly bitter grapefruit finish. Medium body. Thoroughly uninspiring, especially considering how much hype these guys get.

Can from Beer Cartel (April 2015). Dark amber, 2cm cream head, strong malt and earthy hop aromas, mango, tropical fruit, toffee/caramel, medium body, thick texture, sweet, earthy finish. Very nice.

Can (curiously from WA - looks like they have a presence there too). Amber with an inch of off-white head. aroma of bread crusts, peach, flowers, mango and other ripe tropical fruit. Sweet with toffee and bread but the stone and tropical fruit don’t disappear at all, and there’s a lightening orange, pepper and floral note that comes through towards the moderately bitter finish. A very satisfying drop - rather ESB-like with deft Australian hop accents.
