Hand-pump @ union hotel. Pours near clear amber orange with resilient light off white head and excellent specked lace. Light herbs, floral notes, grains, light caramel, vanilla and toast. Light med body, low carbonation. Finish is light balanced sweet and touch grainy and bitter. Satisfying well done beer.

640ml bottle into pint glass. Faint fruity hop nose. Looks the goods. Golden bronze beer with solid white head. High carbonation for a bitter with a constant stream of tiny bubbles. Lightly bitter, quite watery. Finish is dry, a little citric & a touch of cashew. True to style though perhaps a touch too bitter for an English style ’bitter’.

Murky brown with thick pillowy off-white head. Malty roasty on the nose. Touch of spicy peppery with a big dry malt extract-y hit - some spruce and dried stone fruit also. Really enjoyable.

Pours a hazy copper/dark amber colour with a small but long-lasting oily head. Pleasant roasted malt aroma with a mildly bitter taste that sits well on the palate.

Dark red with a lasting, firm, tan head. Aroma is lightly fruity, biscuit, sweet caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is mostly fruit, bread malt, lightly toasted grain. A very simple and easy going brew. I’d have another (and I did).

640 ML bottle Deep orange amber color, 2 finger light tan head that falls to a persistent half finger. Slight spots of lacing. Nose is grass, berry, bread, and caramel. Decent nose. Taste is thin and watery at first. Followed by a grassy hop assault. Metallic and astringent. Bread and caramel to finish it off. Light bodied and light carbonation. Pretty full on flavor wise. Ah, those new world takes on bitters. Probably work much better with EKG better. Pretty decent though.

on tap at the brewery. dark shade of amber with a slender head; toffeed aroma with hints of red berry; soft; light bitterness, subdued caramel flavours; obviously aimed at drinkability but a bit lacking in character

Bottle from cellar door (December 2013). Hazy amber/copper, small tight head, toffee, toast, mild earthy/fruity bitterness, medium body, smooth texture, easy drinking. V. good.

On hand pump at The Grain Store. Pours a clear copper with a thin creamy head and mouth feel, mild hop flavours and no real bitterness. Not bad at all.

Cask @ Royal Albert. Amber and bright. Loose, bubbly head. The aroma is quite toasty with an integrated moderate diacetyl...very English in character, old school English at least. Toasty, buttery with juicy hop & acidity in the finish. A mix of brown bitter and juicier southern special bitter.
