The pub also has its own beer, Young and Jackson’s Naked Ale, a brew not for the faint hearted and certainly an individual.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2012 Pot from the tap.Cloudy straw yellow. Nose is a bit of banana, slightly sweet and very yeasty. Taste is extremely yeasty with bits of banana from the nose and a lovely sweetness. A slightly hoppy taste on the mid palate, and the finish is all yeast. Reasonably good beer, but too yeasty for my liking.

this beer is freakin AWESOME.. if you like wheat/sweeter tasting beers I’d peg this as the mecca of wheat. I had this while visiting Melbourne from the U.S. and had 8 pints in 2 days...couldn’t get enough of it. If I ever make it back there I’ll definitely be having the Y&J Naked Ale

On Tap at Young and Jacksons in Melbourne. Served a hazy pale golden color with a decent head and some lacing. Aroma of banana with a bit of citrus and fresh grain. Taste is of banana , a bit of citrus and fresh grain. Finish is a bit sweet and sticky. Light body, smooth and a bit too sweet. Decent beer but a bit too sweet for more than one.

Tap. Nice wheat ale. Aromas are citrusy, and also banana. Flavour is sweet, with a touch of acidity, and average duration. Oily in the palate, and medium body. Cloudy yellow, with a frothy white head that lasts.

Draught at Young & Jackson’s, Melbourne. Pours cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma and flavour of wheat, citrus, lemon grass and sugar. Rather thin bodied with low bitterness. Tastes similar to a candied-lemon soft drink. Not great.
