On tap @ The Pheonix, Dundee. Pours amber with a nice head. The nose has malt and caramel. The taste has also a bit of nuttiness as well as more caramel and malt. The palate is light in body but well balanced and the finish is not as astringent as Id assumed it was going to be, based upon the nose. Overall, a solid citizen.

Cask by handpump at Guildford Arms, Edinburgh (9 Jun 12) - clear golden amber ale, thin off-white head, mild caramel malt aroma, good temperature, bit of caramel, roasted barley, bit watery, no unpleasant bitterness

Pint, 4.3% abv ruby copper colour, tiny tanned head, hazy. Smelled of rasins and slightly off cherries. Tasted wheaty/grainy with a long bitter roasted malty finish. Fairly smooth. Overall decent bitter but not outstanding.

stravale (2035) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - AUG 27, 2011
Cask @ Abbey Inn, Kinloss
Light brown, clear, with thick 1cm white head.
Typical Caledonian smell of popcorn, hint of butter and sweet malt.
Sweet malt, bitter hops, bit of butter..hmmm..sort of a better version of McEwans (!)
Palate - bittersweet, finish of cereal and malt, low carb, bit watery.
Overall - yeah yeah zzzzzz,. drinkable, but very ordinary. BTW was in very good condition
