500 ml bottle. Bottle no. #03833. Clear amber colour with a nice medium-sized white head. Lots of carbonation rushing towards the surface. Sweet cherry-like malty aroma. Crisp bitterness that leans onto the malt and the caramel. Rich beer. Smooth texture balanced by carbonation.

Bottled. A clear, golden, lightly sparkling beer. It has a quite malty nose, with beefstock, hops and pine. The flavor is beefstock, malt, sweetness and maybe a bit low on the hops. Full to medium body, quite silky. A really lovely beer that is well suited for an anniversary. Thx to KnutAlbert for this rare gem. (070213)

Medium white head; brown body with carbonation. Light caramelly hop aroma, very harmonic. Sweetish nutty caramel taste with dry, caramelly aftertaste. Very harmonic and balanced. Extremely drinkable. Dry, light citrusy edge. (0.5l bottle. Thanks to KnutAlbert for this one!)

Pours a deep clear golden with a diminishing white head. Sweet honey aroma with a soft nuttiness and a spicy aroma. The body is med. heavy with light CO2. The flavors are pretty hop forward. Lot so yeast esters and a ton of orangey, spicy hops. Tons of sweetness and alcohol. Nice beer.

500 ml bottle, at the Lamb, Holborn. (Takeaway bottles were available as of last week). Amber ale with a firm head. A very vinous ale, you feel the 7.5% in this, with a warming alcohol. There are some of the Young’s trademarks in the aroma, both fruit and hoppy bitterness, but it is a pity that this ale does not make it to the very top of their beers.

500ml bottle - Lot no. 3403. Pours clear orangy amber with a creamy white snow head. Aroma is flowery from hops with deeper tones of dark dried fruit. Quite powerful when it enters your mouth - quite malty then turns visnious and peppery then finally quite bitter.

500ml bottle. Deep and clear amber. Lasting off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Intense and depth flavour of herbs, yeast and dark berries. Full bodied. Some alcohol notes towards the end. More than alright, but somehow a bit out of balance (The Lamb, London 18.09.2006).
