Bottle. Clear amber with a huge head. Raisins, toffee and some hoppy aromas- a great combination. Flavours are rich with raisins and caramel, but with good balancing bitterness. Good body, dry mouthfeel. A great way to celebrate the anniversary (though cutting their roots in Wandsworth is not).

Disappointing bottle. A beer which lacked individuality. Strong and sweet but not interesting at all.

Pours deep gold with copper core and thin white head. It has a mild aroma of soft subtle malt sweetness, mild caramelized malts and more sweetness. The taste is much the same as the nose with smooth blended malts and creamy floral hops (could that be right?), hints of spices like coriander and other less discernables. Wow, so smooth and crazy drinkable. Ends with lingering light colored fruity esters and a sense of dryness. YUM!!

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of light fruit, pale malt, biscuits, and spicy floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.

Bottle: Deep orangish, quite hazy and thick, moderate off-white head, spotty lacing.   Pale malt aroma, slightly fruity.   Fairly strong malt base, mild hop biterness, fruity, with a hint of Old Nick.   Seriously, this is like Old Nick light.   Getting a minor wood/oak like flavor.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes like a Barley Wine but not heavy, overly malty, or alcoholic.   This really is like Old Nick light.   Comes across as a light English Barley Wine.   Thanks for bringing this one back with you dunkeylips!

Bottle, courtesy Ungstrup (at GBBF), August 2006. Attractive copper colour. Malty aroma, with the emphasis on caramel and a smattering of earthy hops. Jammy fruit and fat malt on the palate. Could do with rather more hop attack to balance things out better. Tasty enough but a little on the sweet side.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw, fruit, spices, and caramel. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of fruit - especially peaches and oranges, but also a light touch of yeast, before a dry and rather bitter finish sets in.

(Bottle 50 cl) Lot no. 11559 Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a cloudy, orangey golden with a nice, off-white head. Fresh and rather fruity nose. The body is solid with a sweetish, malty nose, some fruit and a somewhat tired finish. 100507
