COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
Charles Wells and Young’s merged in 2006. Young’s brand acquired solely by Charles Wells in 2011.
Brewed using the highest quality barley grown on UK assured farms. Golden in colour with a light, dry palate & a fresh, fruity aroma. Perfect with bangers & mash or roast beef.
Matured live in the bottle for a fresher taste. Can be enjoyed cloudy, but ideally pour slowly leaving the last few drops in the bottle with the yeast. For best results store upright & serve at 10-12°C.

What a disapointment! I saw it was bottle conditioned and I thought I would get one of these real craft ones but it wasn’t the case. The aroma is mainly malt, buscuits, toasts and a little bit grassy hops, it pours golden hazy with unstable and very short head. It disappeared after few minutes and one might thought I was having a stewed apple juice and not the "real ale". Taste is bitter and sour, bitterness is moderate. Body is light, could have been better balanced into being more full. One of these you forget quite quickly.

Appearance: Clear amber with finger thick tight bubbled head. Aroma: Biscuit, bread dough, fruity and floral. Taste: Low sweetness, low/medium bitterness and sourness. Palate: Very light texture and smooth body, average carbonation, dry abrupt bitter/sour biscuit fruity finish. Comments: Very tasty and glass lace.

0.5 bottle. Light orange color, slightly hazy with a medium, long-lasting, white head which leaves a thick lacing. Sweet aroma of fruits, a touch of malts, bitter hops and honey. Taste is somewhat bitter intertwined with honey and some fruits, not especially complex but gracefully balanced. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Finish is delicate and follows the taste, alright. Overall the beer is really good, has a nice balance and a sweet touch to it but on the other hand sweetness is not what one could expect from a bitter.

Erzengel (5638) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2013
--> Leckeres Bitter Ale, gut trinkbar!

500 ml. bottle, golden orange colour with a white head that fades soon, but leaves a good lace. Smell of hops and citrus, mineral, limestone. Sme rough edges in the (buttery) palate but it feels very good and refreshing. Taste of citrus, hops and minerals. Good one.
