Very distinctive but not to my liking. Bone dry with little residual sugar.

Smooth, light bitter. Overall its average, but English bitters are above average.

Bottled. Amber colour, big fluffy white head with good condition. Low fruity hop aroma, hoppy and metallic in the mouth with a lingering dry bitterness.

Gold-amber colour. Quite nice aroma, not too much hoppy; candy sugar. Dry, whith some malt notes in the background and some hop in the palate. Simple, light, a bit metallic.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2005 Bottle from Sainsburys, 600ml. Brown, overcarbonated bottled bitter with little head. Aroma is boiled sweets, malt, dusty bookshelf and next mornings slops. Flavour is very sweet, yet watery with a touch of bitterness and a sour edge in the finish. Over sweet and boring.

seemed much better after choking down a flowers IPA. Upon further review it was just an average ESB which is still a welcome sight if you’ve got a flowers in your hand.

Nothing very special about this beer, but still good.
