Hazy golden yellow color, white head. Odd aroma of hops, sweet candy, bit flowery. Hopbitter taste and palate, somewhat more sweet than other EPA.

Bottled. This Maris Otter aroma is news to me, I still don't know what to think of it. I find the aroma richly yeasty with big citrus notes. The flavour brings my thoughts to blood grape and then it finishes, not all pleasantly(gastric juice?), with a medium bitterness. Still, this brew in its entirety gets a decent mark for not being an average bore.

Bottle conditioned: a clear deep straw colour with a moderate white head, fading quickly to leave elegant lacing and some light carbonation; fresh fruity aroma, with hints of apples and oranges; refreshing citrus taste with lemeon and orange flavours and an acidic bitterness to followed by a grapefruit aftertaste. Excellent.

Very sweet citrus aroma covers everything else, reminds me of some home made wines. Light yellow colored with strong cloudyness. No foam to mention. Carbonation is obvious in mouthfeel. Citron flavor ends with dry and mildly bitter notes. Very unusual beer for my experience.

Botlle conditioned. Straw gold, slight haze. Poor head and moderate condition. Slightly sulphurous in the nose, malt fruitiness in the mouth and a short bland finish. A big dissapointment, lacking character and any depth of flavour. A bottled conditioned lager would have more appeal than this.

Pale golden with some haze. Nice white steady head. Unpleasant aroma of burnt rubber and spices. Sweet fruity flavour. Thin body. Hoppy artificial finish, notes of rubber, bitter citric fruit and candy.

A bottled conditioned beer that, for me, really hit the jack pot. A light appearance and a pleasant citrus first taste give an indication of what to expect. As you sip your mouth is bombarded with fruit, hops and a slight bitterness.Aftertaste is lingering and extremly pleasant. It resembles a cross between a top class German lager and a well rounded British bitter. Some would describe this as heaven. In my mind this is a top class beer.

bluevegie (3004) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 8, 2005
Pale orangey golden body with a tightly beaded white head. Citrus hops predominantly on the nose along with some chalky yeast. Aroma follows through to the taste, grapefruit, floral characters and lemon. Thin in body with a lasting soft carbonation. Not my favourite style but still drinkable. Could sell the bottle conditioning.
