COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only available bottle conditioned.
Production moved from Youngs to Wells and Youngs in 2007.
Ingredients: English Lager malt with Styrian hops.
Champion is an unpasteurised, living beer, matured in the bottle for a fuller, more complex, multi-dimensional, fresher taste. With no artificial carbonation, the only fizz is the natural effervescence created by fermentation.

Pale yellow in colour with small head. Light fruity and ashy nose. Flavor starts citrusy, then gives flowery hops. Finish is sweetish and oily. Dissapointment.

Golden color with a nice white head. The taste is a nice malty body with a lemony and hoppy pattern. Nice dry and slight bitter finish.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2007 (on bottle)This is a strange beer. Why the bottle conditioning when it has no effect at all? A grassy-herbish fresh aroma, can´t put my finger on it. At most an avarege taste, allmost like pilsner. But thiner.

Beersiveknown (1622) - NORTHERN IRELAND - JUL 16, 2011
A well carbonated pale brown ale with a frothy white head. Bitter hops nose with light and malty taste. Hops are gentle with rose petal and elderflower. Digestive biscuits malt leaves a sweet malt finish. Some bitterness noticable.

Bottle. Pale straw coloured, almost golden. No head. Slightly hazy. Nicely balanced, hop, malt and fruity aroma. Nice hoppy bitter taste, with underlying malt, plus grapefruit. Some carbonation, with a medium mouthfeel. Crisp and dry, with a sharp bitter finish and pleasant, lingering aftertaste. I like it!

Hazy gold w/ thin loose head. Spicy citrus, yeast and sulphur aroma with a bit of cheese. Spicy, lightly sticky old hop flavor with some sweet malt. Spritzy finish with a little orange.

Bottled from Sainsburys. Rather yummy; pale gold body, slight skunky whiff overtaken by a hoppy crunch. Crisp ’n crunchy. Nice one.
