2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1099) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2012
First tasted this in Gabriels, Paisley in October 1997. Cask, handpump dispense. Dark ruby red in colour with a thick white head. Strong fruit note of bramble in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a fiery maltloaf base with strong overtones of tart redcurrant fruit. Spicy hop resins imparet a dry bitter aftertaste long in intensity. Finish is malty with dry vinous fruit still evident in the mouth. A decent session bitter.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 redpooba (167) - New York, USA - FEB 24, 2012
From the aroma and color of this beer from is expecting a lot from the get go. Since the alcohol is a bit lower than usual for a premium beer the flavors have an opportunity to settle on the tongue longer. Reminds me of an Irish red ale but crafted a lot better and with better ingredients.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Malty body with caramel malts, light earth tones a hint of toffee and toast. Slight fruit tones appleish with a hint of paper and a lightly bitter toast finish. Eh alright.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7026) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2011

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2010
Originally rated September 2004. Poured an amber-orange colour with a fine head. The nose was fruity and hoppy. The taste, as well, was fruity (on the orange side). Could also taste the light caramel malts. Had a mild bitter finish. A pleasant english ale with a cool name, and a good story behind it (written on the label).

Bottle at Crab’s Claw. Had this one a few years ago. I have to admit I only tried this at first because I liked the name. Not a bad beer overall though.
