3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark opaque brown with large mountainous rocky tan head. Dark baker’s chocolate pervades the nose with little in the way of other aromas. Slightly thin, making it all the more drinkable, this stout is full of chocolate, but not as sweet as you might expect. Nice cocoa afteraste. Well balanced and not over the top given the name of the beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very dark black with a thick brown inch of head on it. Sweet malty chocolate aroma, very light indeed. Extremely burnt sugar feel to it, didnt really pick up the chocolate at first, then it definetely tastes like dark dark chocolate.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
another one of my early beers that lead me down this track for better beer. Loved it at first, but bought too much at once and it quickly wore on me. very chocolaty, not quite as much as rogue, this one had a little better overall taste to it. lots of malt, barley, and sweetness in this brew which didnt hit the spot completely for me, but filled my better beer void for awhile.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured very dark brown/black with foamy tan coloured head. Aroma of malt and chocolate. Taste some alcohol, but dominated by chocolate and malts. Creamy on the palate, roasty and smooth,. Quite dry with a slightly bitter finish. Probably the best stout I have ever tasted.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good chocolate flavor, deep, dark, delicious. It did seem a bit bland, perhaps it needs more hops to balance the sweetness. I liked the bottled product better than the can. It seemed more robust.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2004 (on tap)Yeah, yeah, the geeks goes ape s’’t, but Ive had this so many times, I´m rating on pure memory. The wife loves it and it is a very nice beer. Allmost pitchblack, it damps with chocolatearomas, not the roasted, but milkchocolateflavours. No or very little bitternes, does tend to be acidic in the latter fase of a pint. Good for use in cakes, cooking BBC and then some more cakes. Also in øllebrød.
