A typical stout-apperance.
Aroma from some smoke and maybe soap.
A lot of chocolateflavour and the palate gives you the feeling of that you have been chewing on a newspaper.

Black, with an off-white head. Perfume- and soap-feel in the flavor. Kind of scurty. Clear flavor also of dark chocolate or cacaopowder. Still fresh and watery.

Color is deepest coffee with a generous and rocky mocha head and fine sheet lace---most impressive in the glass...Nose is both roasty and of the advertised chocolate bars---brings a smile...Flavor is a wonderful blend of mildly dry roastiness and smooth bittersweet chocolate with creamy edges. No single dominant sensation here, but the elements meld together seamlessly. Needless to say, the balance is superb. The body is good, but one could imagine this with a bit more weight behind it for what would surely be the ultimate in stoutish luxury...As it is, this is one of the finest available...

Aroma sweet (chocolate). Flavor like mocha (coffee/chocolate mix) and a bit sharp. Agree with other reviewers that it could be heavier/thicker on palate without suffering.

Excellent A wonderful after dinner beer. Full flavored, rich malty / chocolate taste. Dark brown to black in color with a tan long lasting head. A good stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown, almost black stout with a frothy head. Aroma was of malt and chocolate. Initiall taste had a little choclate flavor but not as much as I expected. The body was thin. A good beer but I was expecting more.

I was a little dissappointed... seemed a little light on the palate (some of the higher reviews seemed to have liked that fact) ... the flavor was enjoyable, but not my favorite. Definitely worth a try, but ill stick with others of the genre

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 A very nice chocolaty aroma arose from my pour of a brown head full of large bubbles and a opaque dark brown body that left a clinging lacing as it receded down the side of my glass. Ultra smooth initial taste followed by a mild chocolaty sweet aftertaste. It was extremely smooth and very much to my liking. Wow

Dark black color. toffe and choclate aromas, very prevalent deep choclate flavor. A real treat!
