A chocolate milk aroma with some roast malt. Thin head and dark brown color. Flavor is extremely sweet and boasts milk chocolate with bitter notes and toasty malt. Mouth feel is carbonated and fizzy with a small caffeine taste.

15 oz can, cool. Despite a loud whoosh when I opened the can this one did not have as much carbonation as I imagined. Consequently not a very large head. Also it lacked the creaminess on the top that I expected. Still this is a good tasting stout that is dark in color and very much like coffee and toast. There is a hint of chocolate to this one but not enough in my opinion. The aroma on the other hand is loaded with a chocolate smell along with toasted malt. Hops well balanced. A must try.

Cellar Temp. Nice big chocolate aroma. Seems a bit more roasty, with subtle coffee than big chocolate as the name would suggest. Very light mouthfeel dangerously close to watery for a stout. Tasty. Plesant. Light residual roastyness.

Bottled, from Riley’s. Pours jet black with a tan head that lingers, very little lacing. A sniff...chocolate truffles, raspberry? Even smelling this beer is like bathing in chocolate. Tasting now, instantly my mouth is satiated with bittersweet chocolate, though it quickly diminishes to reveal roasted barley. A nice balance. Another sip, then another...man this beer is more than a meal. My glass slowly draining, I savor the last drops of this chocolate behemoth and look foreward to my next.

From the instant I opened the bottle, I could detect a chocolatey aroma. Being an avid chocolate lover, this already piqued my interest. Poured a delicious looking hazelnut-colored, rocky head. Initial sip is thick and velvety, with a big chocolate taste complimented by fainter coffee and sour flavors. Leaves a thick taste in your mouth and nose. Pretty good, although it is a little more acidic than I would habe thought.

Out of the bottle this beer is opaque black with a thin tan head. The nose is mostly of roasted coffee. The taste is sweeter with a definite chocolate taste. Very enjoyable.

(bottled) Great appearance, opaque black, thick rich creamy head. Rich sweet burnt chocolate, lightly fruity, sweet malty aroma. Flavour is malty, obvious chocolatey flavour(although not as prominent as i expected), surprisingly dry, coffeeish bitterness.

Aroma is malty cocoa butter with a tinniness probably attributable more to the nitrous than the metal can. Peach-white head with lighter bubbles in the center; typical nitrocan underbody lacing and heavy head lacing. Initially seems like a dessert beer in that the cocoa butter and sugar are quite noticeable in the flavor (though not overwhelming). Also present is a high level of grainy hoppiness and a surprising level of pale malt. Finish is pleasant dark chocolate "unsweetened" by a corresponding hoppiness. Rated based on the nitrous can -- could revise things upwards a few points on draught.
