3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2006 Black in color, I couldn’t see ruby. Head is brown and disappears quickly. Scent of chocolate. Chocolate taste is immediately noticeable, and as it warmed I also tasted coffee and hops. Full bodied. Left a dry feeling in my mouth; the last few sips were noticeably bitter. Very good.
As one of my very early ratings, I was very impressed with this at one point. While still a quality beer, it no longer impresses as it once did. Still looks great, but the aroma and flavor are much lighter now that I have more to compare to.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours with a tan creamy head. More or less black in color, or should I say colour? Anyway, good aroma, chocolatey, but with hops behind it. The aroma hints well at the good flavor to follow. Smooth, chocolatey, but not overdone. It feels just after swallowing like I've just had a chocolate bar. Well done.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
As it say's on the label "Luxury" After not having this one for a few years, it's easy to forget how thick and luscious it is. Especially compared to it's widgeted cousin - thickness counts! This bottled version is the superior version. lightly roasted, full of chocolate, nuff said.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours almost black with a very nice tan to brown head. First odor is of course a chocolate aroma surrounded by a slight coffee odor. The first sip is awesome. Sweet but with a slight bitterness to it. Creamy body that finishes dryer than I expected. Seems almost like a Mackeson XXX Stout mixed with a Guinness Extra Stout. Definitely recommended!

Thick head, coal black color, subtle roasted, chocolate malty flavor. Gets a little better as it warms.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark black, smooth and creamy. Good malt character, and tons of different chocolate: dark, sweet, bitter -> all mixed to perfection. Great stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark brown/black with a caramel head. The chocolate is noticable in the aroma and taste. Very sweet and creamy. Slightly bitter aftertaste due to the chocolate. The sweetness may be overrated since I had this alongside a Bells Double Cream which was exceptionally bitter/sour, I needed something to get that taste out of my mouth and the bartender recommended this.
