Pours black with one and a half finger of creamy beige head. Very nice aroma with a discreet smell of semi-dark chocolate (40-50% cocoa), roasted malts, some coffee and a slight smoky tone. Medium bodied on the palate, quite dry with a nice, chocolaty finish. No bitterness to speak of.

(backlog Xmas 2013) Maruhn bottle. As satisfying and delicious as a natural adjunct i.e. pancake chocolate syrup laden stout under 6% can get - not a dessert beer as such rather than dessert in your beer. Not cloying in its sweetness, but at every gulp it is clear that most aromas are added essences, not intrinsic or organic malt or hop flavours - alhough well integrated ones. Anyone who can live with that, maybe schooled in the rich Belgian school of adjunct lambics and ales, is in for a treat.

Bottle, 500 ml. Pours black with a huge amount of tan head (this one spilled over a bit). Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and vanilla. Taste is similar; the roasted malt backbone is joined again by dark chocolate, milk chocolate, a little bit of vanilla, and a welcome visitor in the form of a salted caramel note. Body is a little too thin and watery for my liking, but the flavour is very nice indeed.

THX! to Kraddel. Finallly got to this one. 500 ml. bottle split by 2 @ Barley Legal Tasting Room. Dark brown, blackish, small mocha head. Smells like generic chocolate syrup, upscale Ukrainian Chocolate (the kind that taste like no other chocolate & isn’t very good but is somewhat nostalgic and fun), some gravy before it opens up, light roasted malts. Has that same artificial chocolate / Ukrainian chocolate / chocolate syrup for ice-cream feel to it, fake but fun fake, chocolate milk, light bitterness in the back, brown sugar, very faint herbs. Cheap chocolate syrup for ice-cream mouth-feel. Reminds me of ST Choklat but this isn’t as good. Artificial but very fun to drink this is a perfect non-beer drinkers beer like Lindemans Framboise.

Dark brown, almost black pour with a thin head. Smells of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Very nice chocolate flavor with a bit of coffee near the end. Great beer.

Piwo butelkowe. W aromacie słabo wyczuwalna czekolada. Kolor czarna smoła, piana grube oczka ale szybko opada w nicość. W smaku czekoladowo ale taka tania stara czekolada, smakuje sztucznie i trochę orzechów. Piwo dosyć wodniste, lekko gorzkawe, wysycenie niskie. Ogółem bieda ale nie z nędzą.
