Pours a dark black brown from a bottle, sweet, roasty caramel nose, somewhat fakey chocolate flavor in there, a little something vegetal too. Okay beer.

Coffee and chocolate aromas. Cream colored thick head. Malt and chocolate flavor cleaned up nicely by the hops. No lingering aftertaste.

500ml bottle, 2006 aged vintage @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, March 16, courtesy of Mike. Aged in a dusty cellar so wasn’t doing this beer any favours. Pours dark, the milk chocolate is certainly still alive and well on the nose and the palette. Unfortunately it seems softened by cobwebs and dust, and as such makes it near undrinkable. However, had it been properly sealed those chocolate flavours would’ve tasted lovely. So rated accordingly.

Bouteille. Arrière-goût moyen-long, moyennement amer du trio chocolat/café/rôti. [notes 2006]

Bottle in England. Aroma has plenty of chocolate, malt, a bit powdery chocolate, mostly chocolate really. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a little roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Easy drink, smooth beer. Could be a bit more full, but regardless this is a very tasty Chocolate Stout.

14.9 oz. can. Pours thick dark brown/black. Long lasting creamy tan head. Aroma was malty, cocoa and chocolate. Wasn’t as chocolaty as I had expected, but definitely has a chocolate/cocoa in the taste.

Very deep dark appearance, pretty beige head and good licing. Chocolate aroma with noticeable alcohol, fortunatelynot in taste. A lot of sweet and dessert chocolate with coffee aftertaste. Medium carbonation and high bitter.
