500ml brown bottle. Dark brown with reddish highlights. Very heady - holds a good 2 fingers worth of fluffy foam for quite a while and leaves some spotty lace. Nose is chocolate malt with trace black coffee. Roasty flavour, coffee beans, dark chocolate, minerals. Aftertaste of roasted malts and coffee, fairly dry. Soft mouthfeel, light carbonation, good drinkability. An old favourite of mine that still holds up well.

Aug 6, 2008 Pour looks thick with a dark tan head. Aroma is full of sweet malt, chocolate, some lactose, and oats. Flavor is just like drinking chocolate milk. Palate is real smooth and chocolaty with sweet malts and a hint of bitterness. Real good and easily drinkable beer. Would buy again.

Aug 5, 2008 Lovely aroma of chocolate, almost smells like kahlua mixed in with it. Appearence is as one would expect, jet black with a dark mocha brown head.
Flavour is perhaps a bit thinner than expected, there is lovely chocolate flavours, again a touch of coffee/kahlua and a gentle but persistant bitterness.

Aug 4, 2008 I’d rather this not come in cans, but what an unbelievable stout. A dark chocolate flavor which suggests actual chocolate use and not just flavoring. A heavy winter desert drink.
