3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an opaque black with a creamy tan head, mostly lasting. Aroma is chocolate. Very thick viscosity and very creamy on the palate. Taste is chocolate, dark roasted malt, with some coffee overtones. Dry finish- not sweet. Akin to Guiness stout only with chocolate flavoring. Very enjoyable beer-pairs well with nuts and pretzels.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint bottle. Appearance: dark brown-black color, good sized tan head, excellent lacing, clear appearing. Aroma: chocolate, roast, coffee, nuts, grain. Palate: full body, good carbonation, creamy texture. Taste: very sweet upfront with a lingering bitter end similar to dark chocolate. Overall, great mouth feel, smell and taste. Only downside is I do not think I could have more than a pint of this before I started to get sick of it.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Liquor Barn in North Burnaby. A beautiful black liquid with a tan head and rich overtones of coffee and chocolate. Almost as rich as an impy stout without actually being one. Yum!
This is a beer that I’ve enjoyed several times over the years, and I can’t believe I haven’t gotten around to rating it until now. Weird!

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

Chocolate dark brown pour with frothy head. The aroma was cocia powder, milk chocolate, some roasted malts. Taste was bitter chocolate and some nuttiness. Fairly dry mouthfeel.

Excelente aroma. Primera impresión es de café. Diría que no se transmite eso al sabor. Falta consolidar los ingredientes entre sí. Sobra un poco de gas. El lúpulo se siente a los costados de la lengua únicamente. Pero como un todo es medianamente buena.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a frothy, one and a half finger, mocha head that fades over time and leaves medium rings of lacing on the glass.
Aroma has notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and very faint hops.
Taste is a balanced bitter with notes of bitter dark chocolate, and roasted malts that continue through the aftertaste.
Medium body and carbonation. Smooth and clean in the mouth making it very easy to drink.
Overall I’m enjoying this. Solid roasted malt flavour with a subtle note of dark chocolate. Easy drinking mouth feel with a 5.2%abv makes this sessionable for most. Not the most chocolaty Chocolate Stout I’ve had but pretty good and easily available. Will probably buy again when the mode hits me. Cheers!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours chocolate brown (what else) with a head that shifts through the liquid and settles to a thick and almost solid seeming yoo-hoo topper. The lacing covers the the walls of the glass like a coat of cappuccino paint. Aroma is slightly spiced cocoa and cream. Smells quite like Christmas. Taste is well-roasted chocolate malts and very creamy on the palate. A touch of burnt bitterness for depth and balance. Very little aftertaste and a bit thin. Easy to drink and a distinctive classic.

An older bottle, 3 weeks to its best-before, pours black with a latte coloured head and aromas of cocoa, milk chocolate and a little dark dried fruit. A little sweet initially, then with light bitterness, dry cocoa and a touch of tart old wine coming through. Finish is dry-bitter with chocolate.
