I’ve had this on tap and nitrocan recently...I’d have to say tap was a little better, as expected...regardless, pours black with nice frothy beige head...roasty sweet smell with flavors of chocolate and mild roasted coffee bean...creamy mouthfeel with excellent lacing...to me its very similar to the Murphy’s and Guinness’ nitrocan "essence" with an extra touch of chocolate...easy drink, does’t weight you down.

Bottle. A- Cocoa, bakers chocolate, coffee, roasty, malty. A- Black color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Roasted, dry cocoa, coffee. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Not very sweet at all and actually quite dry. A subtle chocolate flavor but not very powering and certainly doesn’t live up to the name.

Couleur noire, beau petit col de mousse cremeuse beige. Super nez chocolat amer, van houten. Gout chocolat légèrement amer (style van houten), cremeux, avec pointe de café voir réglisse. Bon corps presque cremeux. Fin longue et intense de chocolat. Super stout!

Very well balanced with dessert chocolate aroma and taste. Not much bitterness or acidity. Medium sweet with a short aftertaste which is a pitty cause it lacks more character. Not a bad one though.

Dark pour with plenty of foam. Aroma is light cocoa and malt. The flavor is light chocolate and cream. Pretty good.

Pours a deep brown/black color, topped with a decent tan colored head. Nose of chocolate with a bit of coffee and toast. Taste of chocolate up front with mild roasty bitterness and some coffee. Flavors are moderated with a smooth malt base. Finish is abrupt and surprisingly dry. Light, tasty and very unique.

A good stout this one, with good chocolate flavor and aromas. Not to much alcoholic but not too weak.

Pours a deep brown almost black color, topped with a decent tan colored head. Naturally, chocolate aroma, some notes of coffee and roastiness as well. Somewhat sweet and chocolatey start, roasty bitterness and some coffee notes towards the end. Pretty nice.

There’s something about this stuff....it smells good, it’s awful tasty, but it strikes me as being gimmicky and artificial. It smells and tastes like real chocolate but....it kinda doesn’t. Still, it’s a decent stout, and it’ll in a pinch (ie when it’s the most interesting thing on the menu).
