mybestfriend (246), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 9, 2008 Bottle. Very dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, both milk chocolate and darker more bitter chocolate, together with some coffee beans. Flavour is very much alike the aroma - smooth with both milk chocolate and darker and more bitter chocolate with some coffee. A small amount of bitterness. An OK effort, just a bit boring.
IlanMan (501), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pour looks thick with a dark tan head. Aroma is full of sweet malt, chocolate, some lactose, and oats. Flavor is just like drinking chocolate milk. Palate is real smooth and chocolaty with sweet malts and a hint of bitterness. Real good and easily drinkable beer. Would buy again. Praetorian (7), Los Angeles, California, USA does not count Aug 5, 2008 has the color of motor oil with an aroma of hops and chocolate. has a good head but minimal-no lacing. tastes of strong, bitter chocolate Dredd (345), Ormond, Australia Aug 5, 2008 Lovely aroma of chocolate, almost smells like kahlua mixed in with it. Appearence is as one would expect, jet black with a dark mocha brown head.
Flavour is perhaps a bit thinner than expected, there is lovely chocolate flavours, again a touch of coffee/kahlua and a gentle but persistant bitterness. stchloe (94), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 4, 2008 I’d rather this not come in cans, but what an unbelievable stout. A dark chocolate flavor which suggests actual chocolate use and not just flavoring. A heavy winter desert drink. fidel (98), Livermore, California, USA Aug 4, 2008 Dark brown, well.... dark chocolate, roasted malts, nutty, little coffee, sweet, smooth, simple.
