Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of straw as well as light notes of elderberries. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and light notes of elderberryflowers on a lightly malty back ground. Thanks to fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

Bottle Conditioned, 500ml, from Sainsburys, Banbury. Amber to gold with short white head. It could have fooled me about being Bottle Conditioned, it looks well and truly filtered. The summer beers are now out, designed to be served cold, with a tinny sharpness, but general lack of flavour. It’s grainy, malty and relatively dry, quite refreshing, but pretty average.

A pretty decent, if slight pedestrian, English golden ale, but the real hook here is the excellent hop impact on the palate. Very nice herbal flavours with a greater than expected bitter finish. Quite fizzy too; perhaps a little more than required. Good summer ale. ($15 @ Peese Cafe, Elsternwick, Melbourne)

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear golden with a small, off-white head. Floral hop notes in the nose. Light-bodied, dry and malty with a lightly bitter floral hop finish. 220808

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Gold with thin off white head. Faintly dusty, citrus, nettle aroma. Quite hard in mouth. Decent condition, at least its not pasteurised. Not a lot of sediment. Good hop on end, bit sherberty, lemon/lime. Ultimately not bad. Still a bit fizzy.

BCA fromWaitrose, Reading, had this 07-05-08 Pours golden with white head. Some ginger and cold tea on the nose, Loz gets metallic notes. Taste was a bit lemony, buttery but with a hint of that cold tea (no milk) and ginger again. Not particularly refreshing or zesty

Bottle brown, 500 ml. Bottle conditioned, occasional, inspired by a hops grown at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. Matured in a bottle for a fresher taste.
Appearance: Pours hazy to cloudy golden/blond body with a very gentle, natural like carbonation and saturation, head is initially medium to small, very quickly becomes small, off white, practically greyish, poor lacing but in fact existing, head is foamy to frothy in its texture.
Aroma: Very fresh, citrusy - hoppy profile with lemon and lime bite and notes of spiced up pineapple, Some notes of ink earthyness, very gentle and hidden malted barley at the background. A bit accidic.
Flavour: Front is flowerz hoppy with a refreshing citrusy notes. At a first sip it feels as being not a Bitter/Premium Bitter. Rather moderate in its body with gentle fresh mashed barley malt background. Gentle saltyness balanced by bitterness on palate. Slight notes of honey, pure cristal malt and caramel malt. Quite decent and noble flavour in the overall impression. Finish duration is moderate.
Palate: Body is light to medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is salty, slightly sour, slightly spicy, moderate astringent.
