COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only available in bottles and cans(pasteurised).
Charles Wells and Young’s merged in 2006. Brand acquired solely by Charles Wells in 2011.
Britain’s most favoured light ale, often mixed with Young’s Bitter. Pale amber in colour with a complex but clean and nutty nose. A clean, satisfying blend of malt and hops, more bitter than the average light ale. Maris Otter pale ale, torrefied barley, crystal malt, fermentation sugar and Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Bottled. Pale/mid amber colour. Lively white head, lots of carbonation. A nutty, lager-like aroma with a touch of malt. Slightly sweet start, with a drier hoppy finish. Clean and refreshing, but thin. Far more like a lager than I was expecting. Probably refreshing on a hot summer’s day, but otherwise nothing special.

Schöne Farbe, leider kein Schaum. Nase: kaum Aroma, leicht Malz. Im Trunk Wein, etwas sauer, wässrig. Britain’s favorite light ale - I doubt it.

Not the worst and would go down a treat on hot day. Golden with head when roughly poured into glass. Hoppy malty caramel notes in nose. Not too thin when room temperature. Had worse and would do the neccesary thirst quencher as a light should

Very fizzy. Nice colour. Light amber. Mild head. Quite chemical aroma. Too fizzy on the tongue for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

275ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber-brown, big bubbly white head that head soon vanishes. Aromas of ccaramel and light nuttiness. Taste is toffee sweet. Very thin body, watery. More like a bitter shandy than anything. Not great.

Bottle@Pied Bull, Streatham (9/3/2014) - pours a pale amber/copper colour with thin white head. Light malty and nutty, slight caramel, toffee, very watery, low carb, overall pretty plain and forgettable.

275ml Bottle. Clear pale copper with no head. Nose is light malt and light lemons. Light in the mouth, but there IS a bit of surprising bite to it. A nice bitterness of lemon and grapefruit. A slight caramel. For the gentleness of this ale, it packs a decent wee punch. Sadly, a bit overly fizzy.

Just when i thought i was going to be subjected to a day of terrible beer while watching the darts at the Lakeside, i spotted this in the fridges and thought that there might be something better than cooking lager on offer. How wrong i was. It poured a pale copper colour with no head. Watery and lacking much flavour other than some slight caramel and biscuit malt notes. Too fizzy. Bland and bad.
