On cask at The Anchor. Amber body, thin head. Malty nose. Taste of malts and toffee. Smooth texture. Enjoyable.

The Old Ship, Richmond. Orange gold with a white ring, slight mist and some bits floating in it. Hooky-type biscuit, Ovaltine, orange peel and slightly green aroma. Clean and crackery with bread and Ovaltine malts to the fore; pleasant but watery orange fruitiness. Insubstantial but good.

Cask at The Elm Tree, Cambridge, as ’Youngs Gold’. Gold with a small white head. Very faint grassy hop aroma. Nettly hop taste with a bit of cream in there too. Mid bitter finish. Not bad.

Cask, handpump as alias - Youngs London Gold. Had at The Bishop out of Residence, Kingston upon Thames, Thames Tipple Leg 9 Hampton - Kingston Upon Thames are 13-03-10 Surprised at the low ratings for this beer recently as I quite enjoyed this. Pours gold with a white head, good clarity. The aroma is a little light on substance. Dry and tangy in the mouth, with a good fruity bite. Nice beer. A5 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Cask at The Anchor, London. Clear golden with small white head. Quite the low hop profile. Some sweet malt and light fruity hop notes. Flavour carries the same. Nothing special.

As London Gold: this really is a terribly poor ale. No hops to speak of bar a hint of dryness after a big gulp. All honey and malt and slimy textured.

Light, inoffensive sessions ale. Vague aroma of hay and a slight fruitiness to it, overall utterly unremarkable if perfectly pleasant.

Cas. Clear golden with a white head. Sweetish fruity nose. Light body, flat with a very soft mouthfeel. Sweet fruit accents and no real bitterness. A fresh little drop. 170110
