A beautifully hand crafted beer with an exceptionally smooth palette and a fruity aroma. A dark, ruby-coloured stout, almost black from a distance, with a beautiful creamy head. Fuggles and Goldings hops. 20% Slovenian Goldings added 10 minutes befofe end of boil.

bottle: A decent brew, but I wasn’t all that impressed. Pretty brew and nice roasted malts, prunes, licorice, some nuttiness and soy sauce. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A decent brew, but their double chocolate stout is much better.

Nitro-keg pour is solid black with a thick creamy beige head. Aroma is hard to get through the thick creaminess but upon settling there is oat and chocolate malt. Taste is nut, oat, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Texture is thicker than a lot of nitrogen beers and taste is rich and full. Nutty malty finish.

Bottle. Pitch black with a tall, dark brown head. Fine and foamy. Slightly burnt, milky aroma. Very rich flavor, not overly burnt, but good roasted malt. Creamy, slightly milky but not sweet. A dry finish, though not at all overpowering. A good stout, but not really that interesting, especially compared to the double chocolate. It is smooth and easy to drink, though, with a decent balance.

Dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma is nice and toasty with a light malty backbone. Slight nuttiness as well. Roasted malt up front that’s not entirely pleasant but has a good creamy mouthfeel and a nutty finish which is nice. Solid but there’s better for the money.

Roasted malt and date aroma, not very strong. Black pour, thick tan head, good glass adherence. Dry, comfortable mouthfeel. Bland tasting. Bark and charcoal are barely discernible beyond midpalate and hints of cola are on the front. There is improvement as the glass warms, but it never quite does it for me.

The aroma is very nice, chocolate, roasted coffee, licorice, hops. The appearance is true to the style, dark brown, tan head. The flavor is a little dissapointing: raosted malts, soy, molasses. Unexpectedly thin mouthfeel, really detracts form the experience. The finish is non existent, just some fleeting roasty flavor. This beer started out strong when opened, and went downhill from there.

500 ml. bottle shared with peter. Pours a thin almost nonexistant head, over a clear albit with a number of floaters, very dark brown black body....nose is coffee, cocoa, soy sauce, beef......taste is of roasted malts, (coffee, cocoa), beef, bit of soy......mouth feel is light. Over all this is pleasant but not as rich in mouth feel as the usual Oatmeal Stout, The floaters may indicate a too old bottle.
