A beautifully hand crafted beer with an exceptionally smooth palette and a fruity aroma. A dark, ruby-coloured stout, almost black from a distance, with a beautiful creamy head. Fuggles and Goldings hops. 20% Slovenian Goldings added 10 minutes befofe end of boil.

Bottle. Very dark mahogany and a reasonably tall beige head. Faint aroma of toasted nuts, roasted malt and cocoa. Semisweet chocolate, coffee caramel and roasted malt flavor all pretty well balanced with a classicly modest fuggles/nutty hop kick. Mouthfeel a bit too thin for a stout and a short, roasty finish.

Bottle. Dark with a foamy tan head. Bitter roasts, molasses, hints of brown sugar and burnt wood. Nothing extraordinary but solid.

Black, wth creamy light brown rich head and smokey nose. A little thin for a stout, but a refreshing drink none-the-less. Light tastes of coffees and chocolate, and smooth finish.

First impression is that of a black thick beer with brownish lasting foam. Aroma is suprisingly smokey and tary, I would say almost hickory-like. Taste is rich with roasted barly, and notes of chocolate. Nice hoppy bitterness that never takes over. I’d say this is among the best beers I’ve had so far. Really like it. (Only wish it came in smaller bottles.) Had it by the way to chocolate mousse and the combination was nothing but devine. Try or die!

(A bottle out of a free 4 pack from the beer distrbutor who sells to Country Club Liquors, Bakersfield, CA, owner on Ratebeer CCL_rW_mngr) Roasted malt nose with a slight chocolate hint; opaque ebony with a small tan head, flavor is roasty malts with no chocolate or coffee, atiny bit of hops showing in the finish.

Black. Very toasty oatmeal taste. Unlike some other oatmeal stouts this does not have a chocolate or coffee taste. Explains why they have a double chocolate and this.

Aroma: burnt toast, burnt oatmeal, roasted malt, slightest sourish touch Flavor: smooth, good bitter balance, slight sweetness, creamy and mellow, however watery Palate: quite dull, but ok, bit watery, easily drunk

1 pint draught, The Gingerman, NYC. Pitch black with a reddish hue. Clearly roasted, but still mellow, aroma. Burnt coffee and a little chocolate. Very smooth mouthfeel and flavour. Roasted background and a really mellow bitterness.
